Armin Hadipour loses the final to the Korean and gets a silver. Better than I expected.

    Koreans win both golds today.

      Watch the moment below:

Our first female athlete Kiani loses in quarter final. Not a bad run.

I don't know why the haven't let him compete in the semifinal?!! The news says technical committee prevented him.

That stupid Egyptian took a possible gold from us. An important one since the Korean lost in the quarter final.

I was expecting silver for Hadipour and that happened, only this Korean guy was better than him, even though the Thai athlete was also very good and Hadipour had to work very hard to beat him, probably that was the reason Hadipour gassed after 2-3 minutes in the final, this Korean guy never lost a match at 54kg and that was his 3rd back to back world title and he is only 22 !!! but I believe a fresh Hadipour could stand a good chance against him. we had never won gold medal in this weight. this was the first time we were really close.

I was hoping for a medal for Nahid Kiani and she was great till the quarterfinal, she beat the Olympic 5th placer from France but she was just terrible in most important match of her career. our girls are technically good. actually Iran is getting great results in age groups, winning the world team title in both Youth and Junior champs but they mostly lack sometimes in crucial matches . they lack confidence or "shakhsiate ghahramani" that's the difference between Kimia and the rest. she has that missing factor, I knew that from the first time I saw her in World Junior Championships, I saw another girl like her who won the world Juniors this year "Mobina Nejad" she is still 16 and can't compete wth the seniors, you will see her next year.

I really feel bad for Masoud Hajji, he took his chance and used his good draw even though in most of his matches those refs were against him, they just confirmed they won't let him compete in the semies, I thnk there is a rule about that in martial sports, when you won like that that means you are not healthy to continue, ironically the oppostie of that happened for him in Asian Games semifinal , when he accidentally punched to the neck of his Filippino opponent, that guy couldn't continue but the refs didn't disqualify Hajji, instead announced him the winner by RSC ! he later went to win the gold medal.

today is the match I was waiting for it, if Yaghoubi and Lee DH both win the matches they will face in the semifinal, I believe that match will be important also for the team title. from Naderian, Asbaghi, Motamed, Yaghoubi himself and few others, this Korean guy has a great record against the Iranians ! I hope Yaghoubi breaks the curse here.

Yaghoubi out in quarterfinal against Korea no surprise though

Yaghoubi is a phenomenal fighter, but he always gasses ! if you saw his 1/8 final match vs Spain, he had a big lead but that match took too long because of protests, etc. I guess almost half an hour, he lost his lead and the match was tied 21-21, before the extra round he just collapsed on the floor ! he somehow managed to score the golden score to win the match, he barely could stand on his feet after the match, 15-20 minutes later he was up against the Korean. he was leading for two rounds but ran out of gas in last round. he was completely defensive only using his quickness on counter attacks to score but Lee Dae-hoon eventually won the match.

our girl today didn't shine much , still she had chance to beat seed #1 , but lost 4-2. the Turkish girl made it to the semifinal, Mirhosseini has enough time to at least try to level the score but she didn't try much.

nothing more for today, Hajji will receive his bronze. we will have Farzan Ashourzadeh tomorrow. hope he can forgets the Olympic disaster by winning a gold medal here.

That was totally unfair!!! The guy had to play 4 rounds because of some technical problems and protests and just 10-15 minutes later has to play another tough match. The Korean had plenty of rest. There should be a minimum time of 30-40 minutes between matches like wrestling.

Terrible terrible terrible, Farzan just lost th match he could easily won. the same as Rio, he decided to sit on 2pts thinking he can win the match with such a small gap. then the Russian scored big points in last 30 seconds. 8-7 final result.

Farzan used to dominate every match, but now he is just another good athlete, and very beatable. shame

when I see the results of our athletes it seems that we have hard time in most of our matches. other good athletets from other countries seems to win their matches easy

Shameful performances. How can a team downgrade so much in 2 years?? This is the worst world championship performance I have seen in over 20 years. Kick that SOB pooladgar out and change the coach.

Interesting note: the girl who won the 53kg gold medal today had been beaten by our athlete Nahid Kiani a month ago in Islamic Games in Baku. Kiani is a 49kg athlete but participated in Baku one weight up and beat the future World Champion !

while our men's team is in disastrous situation, I see some progress on the women's side, actually I expect Iran to have a very good women's team in 4-5 years, we are getting great results in Junior and Youth World Championships, Iran won the team title in both events.

I'd rather they mess up now than in the next Olympics.
                              Hopefully lessons learned.
