World Champs is usually easier than World Cups in earlier rounds ,because all countries can enter only 4 fencers, I expect all of our 4 sabre fencers to make it to the top 64 tomorrow, (top 64 will be held on Friday) . Abedini and other top 16 in world ranking got bye in group round and they are directly qualified to the main draw.
we will have qualifying rounds in Men's Epee tomorrow as well, we used to be better in Epee and had a top 16 finish years ago ! time to improve in other weapons, our sabre team is world class. but in other weapons we struggle to even qualify from the group round.Comment

all iranians had bye in the 1st round of playoffs. pakdaman won 15-3 over singp but rahbari lost a hearbreaker 15-14 to arg in last 64Comment
