Aron Szilagyi (WR # 1) is also eliminated.
He is 2 times Olympic Champion but has never won world title, actually he has only a single bronze medal at WC.

Winner of Pakdaman vs France will face winner of Hun vs ISR.
I hope IR doesn't screw everything by forcing Pakdaman to lose.

Who is gonna compete first? Pakdaman or Israeli? If the Israeli competes before him and loses then we don't need to worry.

All quarterfinals matches are held at the same time.
              So there is problem.

He wll play for a win and if the Israeli wins too , he will fake an injury to not get disqualified of his bronze medal, (not sure if FIE buys that)

but It will be hard for Pakdaman to not think about that during his QF, and in fencing, this is all about keeping focus

                  This is not possible.
Nowadays everyone knows why we never play against this specific country.
He will get DQ and probably the whole team with him if they decide such thing.

I still don't understand IR's logic. If you hate a specific country so much then let your athletes compete against them and whoop their asses. But by not letting them compete that just shows what a coward you are.

There is no logic but screwing our sportsmen one after one since 4 decades.

Anyway, congrats to our fencers for their results of today.
Those guys have to all train (Sabre + Foil + Epee, Senior + Junior, Male + Female) in a small gymnasium, which is the only place in Tehran where you can find Fencing.
It is incomparable with countries such as France, Italy or Russia which have centuries of experience in this sport, and dozens of facilities dedicated for this sport only.

A big success is still possible on monday with the team event. We are ranked as #5 in the world.

Pakdaman had a great run but stlil well done.

so the team event is our last chance, if I'm not wrong they wlil face Great Britain in top 16 (not easy but Iran will be strong favorite) and probably Hungary in crucial QF match. let's hope for the best

Actually that's not a bad thing, those who win individual medals are usually less motivated or maybe mentally tired for the team event. but that guy Szatmari is not their only good guy, they have World #1 and Olympic Champion Szilagyi.
