Nope, there will be a combined event, athletes have to try all 3 climbing disciplines Speed, Lead and Bouldering. such even doesn't exist at the moment but based on my understanding, specialists in speed climbing will be in disadvantage in Lead and Bouldering, those two events are a bit similar.Originally posted by IRAN300 View Post
I'm following this guy for a year, he deserves MUCH more credit, Iran is not a powerhouse in this sport, he became World #1 by himself. He is not a world champion yet (he won silver and bronze in world championships before) but he is world ranking #1 and world record holder and winning the World Games yesterday was his biggest achievement, even though he was a bit lucky in both Semis and the final his opponents got disqualified for false start. still he has the fastest time of the day.
while I'm not sure if he can win a medal in the Olympics for the reason I already explained, Sport Climbing will be an official sport at the Asian Games next year. very good chance for him to win a gold medal and get the media attention he deserves.Comment
