If we top the group which is likely ,we most probably have to play 2nd place team of Group C, Lebanon , NZ or Korea, to me that's the crucial games for us. and I don't want to play Lebanon , they hate Iran and that won't be easy to play in hostile situation like this, beside that they have a good team.

Chinese team is not complete here, it's not like they are sending a B team, their federation took a very weird decision ! they divided all of their top players into two separate teams, and those two teams will be combined only before the 2019 World Cup in China, this team here is one of those two teams and I don't consider them a favorite. to me it's between Australia, Lebanon and Iran and somehow the Philippines.

They don't have Bogut and the other NBA guys, so they're not full strength. I think we can make the match competitive if we play to the best of our abilities!

The young NZ team beat Lebanon , so we most probably will play the winner of Lebanon - Chinese Taipei game in quarterfinal

with Fadi Khatib being almost 40, Lebanon is not as dangerous as before but playing at home makes them dangerous, and there are so many inexperienced players in our roster, not sure if they can handle playing in hostile situation like that, they hate our team more than any other team, they even booed Iran during the opening ceremony.

here are possible matchups for the quarterfinal

Iran vs Lebanon/Chinese Taipei
Philippines vs Japan/South Korea
Australia vs China/Syria
New Zealand vs Jordan/Iraq

of course there are still so many games left from the first round and things can change, I won't be surprised if Lebanon losses to Kazakhstan intentionally to avoid Iran till the semifinal. or Korea beats NZ for a 3 way tiebreak with Lebanon.
