2nd on snatch 174, chilean got 175, if his leg dont give way he can win gold, he is very good at clean and jerk

Wow Rostami didn't get a single valid clean and jerk score in. He failed on all 3 attempts. He was badly injured but this is highly disappointing. He got a silver for snatch, no score for clean and jerk and no overall medal because he got a 0 on clean and jerk.

kiyanush did not make clean and jerk, his injury look bad, but he showed geyrat, if he was totally fit, he could have done 178 snatch and at least 216-217 , but kiyanush has geyrat, if he is totally fit he is a different person

The moment I heard he will start with 212 I knew we are fked.

Our retarded coaches made the same mistake as with Salimi in the Olympics. Start low god damn it. Specially with an injured athlete.

his leg was not fine, even on snatch at 174 he had a hard time, you get injured like 2 days before this competition , is hard, the chilean is fit.fit rostami is a different style , you remmber him in olympics, he could have started 204-205 but he was injured clearly

Good effort on the last clean jerk attempt. Unlucky to be injured, otherwise would likely beaten the Chilean.

Rostami has a case for being the most handsome man on earth. Hopefully I can mature in to someone like him one day.

that i agree, salimi lost due to weight, start low, you know rostami is injured and he did 205, start at 205, i knew the chilean is not a strong clean and jerk. if he had done 205, the chilean would have made mistakes again, but you start at 212, and not fully fit that a bad idea

oh no no, you only can blame Rostami himself, he has no coach, he decides about himself and doesn't recognize any coach for himself , he is a VERY stupid person to start with 212 when he didn't need to, that was for his best day, not today when he was "apparently" injured.

Rostami is a jerk. you would say the same if you follow his interviews etc. and that's what he deserve, but yeah I'm really disappointed for losing a sure gold medal

He made sooooo many mistakes in past, like making a coup with Salimi to destroy Iranian weightlifting by replacing our very successful coach Kourosh Bagheri back in 2013. we are still paying the price of that mistake.

fact 1: Rostami on his prime days start the compettion with 210-213
fact 2: Rostami claims he was injured the whole week

===> then he must be STUPID to start with 212 while he wasn't 100%.

I also believe I can lift 400kg right now but it doesn't mean I have the right to risk a medal for my country by trying that.

Irannn is right. It makes ABSOLUTELY no sense for him to attempt 212 (which is close to his typical limit on his best day and 100% healthy) when he was injured.

Take into the fact that the Chilean lifter was MUCH weaker than Roustami in clean and jerk. Its not like his opponent was close to his levels in clean and jerk and Rostami had to risk going for his high weight attempt right off the bat. Also, he was just ONE kilo behind the chilean going into the clean and jerk. All he had to do was beat the Chilean by 2 kilos (maybe even 1 if he weighed less than the Chilean).

                                Rostami made a BIG mistake.
