Iran is not like turks/arabs, we dont buy athletes. only if the live in iran or marry an iranian they can get citizenship.

Is this a pride issue? As a matter of fact I ran a local poll online here in San Diego about the same thing and only got 17% yes votes. Looks like my thinking style many times fits that of an outlier. In a nutshell, I consider the ends to be more valuable than the means, as long as no illegal or unethical action is involved. In this case, if there exists a colossal shortcoming in a sports area, we reach out to resources that help remedy it. I don't mind if Iran develops a small but viable winter athletics program in conjunction with a few Russian dual citizens.
