Majid Askari bombed out in the snatch, 69kg (133X, 135X, 135X). No chance of medaling anyways, but not a good start to the weightlifting.

Iranians in action for tomorrow
Archery: We will have knockout rounds for individual events in men's and women's Archery. even though nothing is impossible in this sport but I don't think any of our archers can go more than 1 or 2 rounds. we will have Zahra Nemati and two more male archers.
Gymnastics: Very important event for myself, we will have Keikha in Pommel Horse final, his chance is slim but I hope for a miracle and a historical medal in Gymnastics. he is not that far from the medalists.
Badminton: Sorayya Aghaei will play against Olympic bronze medalist from India, no chance at all.
Beach Volleyball: last preliminary match vs Vietnam, both of our teams are already qualified and topped the group.
Canoe Slalom: we will have canoeists in both semifinals . both of them will go to the final but no realistic chance, maybe very very slim chance in men's C1.
Cycling Road: we will have road race event tomorrow, we have a good team but Kazakhstan is here with pro cyclists. we always had chance in road race but this is not something you can count on it.
Equestrian: Dressage final with Lita Soheila Sohi. no medal chance.
Fencing: we have sabre team event. if I'm not wrong we will play Indonesia in QF which is a sure win and will secure a medal here. then we have to beat China or Japan in SF which is very much winnable. but the real battle is in the final aginst South Korea. they are the best team in the world. I expect a silver .
Football: Round of 16 match vs mighty Korea.
Kabaddi: we will have both semifinals tomorrow, still not a sure thing against who, because the preliminary round will finish tomorrow morning. but that's almost a sure thin that our men's team will play India and women's team against Thailand. women's team will be favorite but our men's team will have an uphill task , India lost to Korea in preliminaries but they are still hot favorite for the gold. this is our early final.
Paragliding: last day of the competition, one of our pilots was 3rd yesterday but he blew it badly and now there is no chance.
Pencak Silat: I'm sure most of you guys never heard of this sport. we will have few athletes here but the draw is not out yet. so I have no idea who plays who.
Rowing: tomorrow is the first day of Rowing finals. we have 3 chances in final A. based on previous results we have two very good medal chances in Women's Double Sculls and Women's Lightweight quadruple sculls. specially our Quadruple team is #1 favorite for the gold medal tomorrow. this is our best chance for a gold medal in rowing.
Sport Climbing: in the first day of this sport. we will have first day of combined event plus the whole speed competition, our best chance for medal Reza Alipour will start and finish his competition tomorrow. he is #1 favorite for the gold but that's no way a sure thing. he fell from the wall few times this year. Indonesia has 1 or 2 very good climbers. our other guy Mehdi Alipour (his brother) is also not without a chance. I think there is slim chance in women's speed as well.
Squash: first round for all of our 4 players, all of them expected to win. they will play their second matches tomorrow as well. I think most of them will be out after the 2nd match.
Swimming: we will have swimmers in 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle. as usual no chance.
Taekwondo: last day of Taekwondo competition. we will have Asian Champion Amir Mohammad Bakhshi and also Nahid Kiani in the competition. Bakhshi has a very tough draw, first Uzbekistan, then a former world medalist from Chinese Taipei. if he wins these two matches he will secure a medal , but next will be Olympic Champion from Jordan. personally I expect Bakhshi to beat all of these guys but in the final he has to deal with Taekwondo Legend Lee from Korea. who never lost to Iranians ! Kiani was our best chance among girls. after easy first round , she only has to beat Kazakhstan or Philippines to win a medal. after what happened before I lost confidence in our girls. I expect two medals tomorrow but no gold.
Wushu: we will have all 5 Sanda finals tomorrow. all of them versus China. obviously Mohammadseifi is our best chance. our other fighters will be underdog in the final but I hope for one more gold. maybe from Shahrbanoo Mansourian or Erfan Ahangarian.
in short tomorrow will be the big day for Wushu and Rowing, plus Alipour in sport climbing. I also expect medal in Taekwondo and Fencing. important day in Kabaddi semifinals.

Selfies and kisses as Iran dominates wrestling honours
https://www.africa-football.com/190450
Iranās Hossein Nouri was swamped by selfie-taking fans after clinching gold in the 87kg Greco-Roman style to help his country reign supreme in the Asian Games wrestling on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Nouri outclassed Uzbekistanās Rustam Assakalov 6-1 to give wrestling powerhouse Iran their fifth gold in four days of competition.
Nouri was given a standing ovation by a raucous crowd of Iranian fans who couldnāt get enough of their new hero, taking selfies and planting kisses on the out-of-breath athlete.
His win came after compatriot Mohammad Ali Geraei, also participating in his first regional Olympics, outclassed Kyrgyzstanās Akzhol Makhmudov 7-3 in the 77kg Greco-Roman final. He took a victory lap with the Iran flag wrapped around him.
Iran had already won three golds and three bronze medals in freestyle events, but the countryās wrestling association president Rasoul Khadem told AFP they could have won more.
āIn freestyle they did okay. But I think Iran wrestling can be better. For instance in Greco-Roman we could have been three finalists and maybe one more gold,ā said the former Olympic medallist.
āBut it is almost good. Our boys did live up to the potential,ā he added.
Widely regarded as Iranās national sport, wrestling has given the country many heroes including Khadem, who won gold in the 1996 Olympics.
However Khadem, also head coach of Iranās freestyle wrestling team, rued the fact that his popular and ancient sport does not receive enough funding.
āWrestling does not have much money as compared to many other sports, so it canāt reach heights like basketball or football,ā said 46-year-old Khadem.
āWrestlers anywhere around the world do not come from rich families. It is a hard sport.ā
But he insisted the āfuture is looking brightā for Iranās wrestlers and said they will not just stop at Asian Games success.
South Korea also had its moment on the mat after Cho Hyo Chul came from behind to edge out Chinaās Xiao Di 5-4 in a nail-biting final of the 97kg Greco-Roman.
An overwhelmed Chul, wrapped around the South Korean flag, first took his little daughter in his arms and then hugged her crying mother in the stands.
In the final wrestling match of the Asian Games, Muminjon Abdullaev of Uzbekistan defeated Kazakhstanās Nurmakhan Tinaliyev 8-0 to clinch the 130kg Greco-Roman gold.We are currently witnessing a revolution in Iranian football. Team Melli has never been stronger than it is today, and we will only get better.

Good day for Iran so far. even though I'm a little upset not winning the gold in Rowing.
Mohammadseifi destroyed his Chinese opponent as well. he is just too good for anybody ! but beside that we won another gold medal with Ahangarian. but I also think Zafari could win the gold as well. to me he got robbed. Mansrouain sisters had no chance , there is still a huge gap between Iran and China in women's Sanda.
Reza Alipour finished second in the seeding round. only 0.01 behind China. he has to face his own brother (who finished 7th) in the quarterfinal later this afternoon.
in Taekwondo both Bakhshi and Nahid Kiani made it to the semifinal. Kiani has to face Thailand (who beat South Korea by more than 20pts margin) and Bakhshi will be up against the Olympic champion from Jordan.
we also won a silver and bronze in Rowing. in women's doubles sculls they were leading until the last 500m but they finished 3rd narrowly. but in women's quadruple (where China didn't enter) I was hoping for a gold but they lost it to Vietnam.

Korean archers dominate the competition usually but today both of them lost before the final. as I said everything is possible in knockout rounds but Nemati was far from being a gold medal favorite.
