After a ban of three years miracles wasn't expected from this coach and to be honest its a bit to early to judge his performance but we have been abysmal in these Asian Games.
The thing with NT managers is that you must hire someone who knows the football in the country and for teams like us or other minnow Asian nations who don't have much to none foreign coaches in the national football system local coaches are the best option for the post of NT manager. Sure their CV is nowhere near to some South American or European coach but neither are the players they will manage really that special.
The perfect approach for teams like us is to hire the best local option as the NT manager while hire a foreign technical manager who knows the football of Asian region, who studies other teams of the region and guides the head coach for international competitions.

we will be active in 10 sports tomorrow in the first day
I make a summary here
Fencing: Men's Individual Epee and Women's Individual Sabre. we have two fencers in each event. they start with pool round and then knockout round after that. slim chance for medal but this is also important to get good results to be in a better position for the team competitions.
Kabaddi: Men's team will play Japan which won't be a problem. women's team will play South Korea. this Korean team beat Iran last year in Asian Championship semifinal which was a surprise. I think Iran will win this one probably easily.
Rowing: Heats round in several events. no medal tomorrow but we will have a better idea about our chance. all of our rowers will advance to the final either directly or via repechage.
Sepaktakraw: we will play Indonesia in Men's team regu event. I expect to lose but our crucial match will be against India.
Shooting: will be a busy day for us. we will have two shooters in Men's Trap and also Women's Trap but this is only the 1st day of qualificaiton round. we will have two other events. Mixed team in Air Rifle and Air Pistol. we will have both qualification and finals tomorrow in these two events. I think our best chance for medal is in Air Rifle but in shooting nothing is guaranteed.
Swimming: Only one swimmer in 200m freestyle. no chance
Taekwondo: we will have the whole poomsae competition in one day. 4 events. men's and women's individual and team. our women's team got South Korea in first round no chance for them but we will have medal chance in other 3 events. our best chance is in Women's individual and then men's team. I expect two medals
Tennis: we will have two players in men's singles (both against Kyrgyzstan ,they should win) and one girl vs South Korea which is mission impossible
Wrestling: we will have 5 out of 6 freestyle weights tomorrow. Atri, Nassiri, Hosseinkhani, Yazdani and Karimi. I think Yazdani will win the gold for sure. Karimi has to wrestle his main opponent from Uzbekistan in semifinal. Hosseinkhani after two easy matches will have a tough draw. Mehran Nassiri's draw is not that bad if he wins his first match. also for Atri his 2nd match is the key. in general I think we can expect 3 or maybe 4 medals. hopefully more than one gold.
Wushu: we will have 3 competitors in women's taolu plus 3 more athletes in Sanda. none of them will get the medal tomorrow. just the preliminary round. no chance in women's taolu but in Men's Sanda. Mansourian will have it easy vs India. the same goes for Mohamamdseifi vs Kazakhstan. but Ahangarian have to be careful against Thailand. I expect 3 convincing wins.

Mohammad Alirezaei finished 4th in 50m breaststroke , beside that we were never even close to a medal.

Ps: World Championship in Wushu is kind of a joke. out of 11 weight classes, each country can enter only 5 ! (3 out of 7 for women) most of the times our athletes are World Champion without facing a Chinese athlete. but only in this case, Mohammadseifi had beat Chinese guys handily before. I think it's fair to say he is really world #1. let's see what he will do with his Chinese opponent later in the competition.
and interesting note. in the whole history of the Asian Games. Chinese athletes only lost 4 times in Sanda Wushu and all of them to Iranian athletes. Ojaghi and Aghaei in 2002, Gholipour in 2010 and Mohammadseifi in 2014. so we are the only country with a realistic chance vs China in this sport.
