It is a very simple game...I played it in school in India a lot.

    From wikihow:

Kabaddi is a popular, easy-to-learn team contact sport with its roots in the millennia-old history of ancient India and South Asia. The basic rules of Kabaddi are simple: two teams of seven players each face off in a large square arena for two halves of twenty minutes each. Players from each team take turns running across the center line to the other team's half of the court, tagging members of the other team, and running back. The more opposing team members they tag, the more points they score, but if the opposing team can physically prevent them from crossing back to their side of the court, they score no points!

One additional info missing above is when the opposition player raids the opponents side to tag players they are holding their breath by constantly saying out loud kabaddi-kabaddi-kabaddi. If they are held and their breath runs out the leave the game.

that's not true at all ! this is not like "zoo" in Iran. you don't have to hold breath, you just have to say Kabaddi-kabaddi-kabaddi, and it's about time. each player has 30 seconds to score if not he has to go back to his own court.

and if they get you. refs immediately stop the match and give them a point. they don't want unnecessary fights leading to injuries.

            Iranians in action for tomorrow

Archery: we will have mixed team competition for both recurve and compound. our chance is very slim in mixed recurve specially after what happened to Nemati today. even in compound they have to face tough India in quarterfinal. I don't expect a medal but that's not impossible in compound. they can beat India but they will be underdog.
Basketball 3x3: last group match against Kazakhstan, they have to win to stay alive.
Beach Volleyball: we will have 1/8 finals tomorrow. one of our team will play Thailand and the other one will play Japan. both of our teams are slightly favorite.
Boxing: at the start of the Boxing competition. we have Kazemzadeh in round of 32 against Philippines. I believe he is the favorite here.
Cycling Road: we will have Individual time trial events for both genders. no chance in women, but Arvin Moazzami has a chance for medal. probably a bronze maximum.
Equestrian: tomorrow is the start of evening competition. which is dressage for the first time in history we have a competitor in this event . I heard he is pretty and even has an outside chance for medal !
Handball: do or die match vs Korea. if we have to win to go to the semifinal. even a draw won't be enough. and I don't think we can do that.
Jujitsu: we will have 3 competitors tomorrow. unfortunately I don't have the draw to analyze in details but we usually have outside chances for medal in this sport. specially in heavier weights.
Kabaddi: both Kabaddi finals, men's vs Korea and women's vs India. obviously our men's team is big favorite for the final after beating India. our women's team will be underdog but after what happened today. why not thinking about the gold.
Pencak Silat: we have 4 athletes competing in the quarterfinal. where a win will secure a bronze medal at least. from what I see only one of them is favorite to win. because so far our fighters lose to Southeast Asian players but can beat the rest.
Rowing: we will have 5 Rowing finals tomorrow. we have good chance for medal in all 5 of them. even though in none of them we are favorite for the gold medal. Nazanin Malaei was my best chance to win the gold but she was 2nd in the heats. Mohsen Shadi also didn't shine so far still I don't write him off. I expect 3 or 4 medals tomorrow.
Sailing: first day of sailing competition. we have two sailors but no chance for medal.
Shooting: we have two shooters in Women's 10m Air Pistol. there is a very slim chance here. we never won a medal in Pistol events.
Sport Climbing: second day of "combined" event which is a mixture of Speed, Lead and Bouldering. we have a boy and a girl in the competition. they both didn't shine in the 1st day but they are apparently better in this 2nd event. still not a realistic chance for medal
Swimming: we only have Ansari in 50m Breaststroke.
Volleyball: east match against Mongolia. we will win the group with this waiting for the next round opponent.
Weightlifting: we have 85kg competition tomorrow, Ali Makvandi and few other weightlifters have more or less the same entry. I think he has a chance even for the gold medal but nothing is impossible , he is not that experienced.

in general tomorrow won't be as successful as today , our best chance for the gold medal is in Men's Kabaddi. we will also win few medals in Rowing. but I won't surprise if we finish tomorrow with just one gold.

Does Alipour do the sport climbing with speed, lead and bouldering, or does he only do speed? My understanding is that in Tokyo 2020, they will only have the combined event. Will Alipour try to compete in the combined event in Tokyo?

Highlights of the kabaddi game vs india. Hindi commentary. Commentators can't believe it. They blame the lack of experience in the indian team that is made of kabaddipro superstars who have never played in the Asian games. They praise the iran team and say the difference was 5 Iranian players that have Asian games experience. 😀

He only does Speed and I think he has no chance for Tokyo 2020. the speed specialist has no chance in this combined event because Lead and Bouldering is a bit similar to each other. while speed is totally different.this combined event is mostly for Lead specialists.

Anyone knows about the weightlifting schedule the next few days? It's the big boys' turn, so Kianoosh, Moradi, Salimi etc. should get some gold medals the next few days.

There is no way kianosh can beat sohrab

Iranian women also beat India to win Kabaddi gold. Taking iran’s tally to 11 gold. Amazingly with the men in the running against Korea to win gold, Iran is looking to clean sweep kabaddi with 2 golds.

Kianoush, who insists to be his own coach and doesnt take advices from team coaches, decided on his own to move one weight up and is competing together with Sohrab Moradi in the same category. So one Gold less for Iran in weightlifting.

funny how I, and many others, have never heard about Kabaddi before. I had to look it up after reading about the medals online. "Ancient Iranian and Indian game". I think we call this game "sok sok"

Ali Makvandi (85kg) bombed out in the snatch. Our two weighters so far have both gone 0/3. Probably our two weakest weightlifters but still...
