so 3 silver and 2 bronze plus basketball 3x3 in bronze medal game.
basketball lost a winnable game. they were leading until the last minute. still had the chance to score the winner but missed it to China. we missed something like 7-8 FTs . two more of them could win the game and probably gold medal for Iran. what a pityComment

People shouldn't be suprised that Taftian is in the final and will likely in gold. His performance in the premlimenry round was 100% by design to exert as little energy as possible.Comment

You never heard of Su Bingtian, do you ? unless he makes a fatal mistake the gold medal belongs to him. and btw Taftian was 3rd in semifinal while only top 2 + 2 best losers would qualify. yes qualifed as one of the best losers but when you finish 3rd you don't know the exact time of other heats. he didn't save anything ! he just had a bad start and had to work HARD to finish at least third.Originally posted by irani8perspolis View Post

6th place for Taftian. even his PB wasn't good enough for a medal.
yes he is improved a lot. but he is not the only one improving ! as I said before the level of 100m in this Asian Games is very high. I had no hope for him to medal but still I preferred to remain optimistic.
and today is the first day without a gold medal for Iran. we could have 2 with Mehdizadeh and Basketball team.Comment

The bronze medal winner finished with a time of 10.00 that is usually enough to qualify for the finals at the Olympics. The 100 meter in Asia is tough. Su Bingtian (China) is currently the fastest non-black sprinter. Japan has good depth and won the silver medal in the 100 meter relay at the previous Olympics. Plus Taftian has to compete with African imports from Arab countries.Comment
