What do you guys call it in Pakistan? I never heard about this sport before. (actually I think having traditional sports in each continent, but not in world Olympics, could be a good way of keeping the spirit of some sports alive. I mean look at the Mayan ball game which is probably the first ball game in the world, it would be cool to see games like that at national level every 4 years)

Maybe it depends on the region of Iran. I am from the East so in Iran I used to play it at school we called it "Ha Roo" or "Zoo", although my dad also played it at school in his time and they called it "Kabadi badi"
It is a traditional game popular with Teenagers.

and with stupid Pencak Silat finals today and tomorrow. Indonesia will win 10 more gold medals and they will be untouchable for 4th place. they already tied Iran with the number of golds. we have to compete with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Thailand for 5th place. don't let the current medal table fool you, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will win lots of gold after Boxing, Sambo, Kurash and Canoeing finals.

Honestly I would exchange more of our medals/competitiveness in this kind of exotic sports (Kurash, Penak silat) to be more competitive in more international sports like cycling, tennis, swimming, athletics, etc..

I struggle to understand how can we be weaker than Bangladesh, Kuwait, etc.. in such sports

no that's impossible. they won 8 gold medals in pencak silat today (all available golds) and there are still 6 more finals for them tomorrow. and they will more gold in other sports. most probably today in both Speed relay events (I hope I'm wrong though) we won't reach 23 or 24. I will be glad if we repeat 21 from the 2010.

yep they just won the women's relay event. Iran finished 4th behind China A and China B ! how the hell they let each country enter two teams in this ! our women's team deserved the bronze.
our men's team was also 4th seed in the qualifiers. we will know their final result in few minutes

PS: our men's team lost to China in QF and finished 5th probably behind both China and Indonesian teams. so no more medal in Sport Climbing.
