Hey guys!
Great news! Iran came second in the men's Second Division in the World Team Table Tennis Championships in Halmstad (Sweden), losing the final to Hungary yesterday. This means that they have now qualified for the Championship Division of the World Championships in 2020, where the best nations in the world compete. This is the first time that Iran has qualified for the Championship Division and is probably the biggest accomplishment ever for Iran in table tennis.
I watched some of their games, and I was impressed. For example, Noshad Alamian (WR 72) beat the 34th ranked Kou Lei from Ukraine to seal Iran's place in the final of the Second Division.
