That was a great win against a(almost )full squad Philippines team away (minus Blatche but that's because they had another naturalized player and didn't call him)

now we are almost qualified for the World Cup. still not a 100% thing. we still can finish 4th if we lose badly to Japan in Tehran but I think we are almost there.

unfortunately as usual Iranian sources suck

there is a slim possibility for us to not qualify. they say that only because we beat Philippines in head to head ! but what if Iran. Japan and Philppines tie on 2nd place ? then our head to head against Philippines doesn't matter but all games between 3 teams wil be counted

Philippines beat Japan twice +6 and +5
Iran beat Philippines twice +8 and +8
Japan beat us once +14 and assuming they will win the name game

all 3 teams will be 2-2 in term of head to record. Philippines will be -5. we are already +2. so if we lose by 8pts or more to Japan and Japan also lose to Kazakhstan. we will finish 4th in the group (assuming Philippines will win the next 2 games) this is unlikely scenario but not entirely impossible.

Iranian media are stupid in max level. I just hope they don't consider it done yet. imaging we field a weak junior team in next window losing to Japan and Australia and then we find out "oh we are eliminated" !! I already tried to contact some team member telling them the truth.

Thanks. that was a relief watching that. good to know coach is well aware of that small possibility. we will qualify for sure if we just take the Japan game seriously. (we probably don't even need that but we have to be prepared in case some crazy results happen in other matches)

I tried to warn some federation members about this. they didn't respond to me lol but that doesn't matter anymore.

Iran would secure a spot in the World Cup in all but one scenario. For them to finish fourth, they would have to lose to Australia and lose to Japan by at least 8 points, Philippines would have to beat Qatar and Kazakhstan, while Qatar would have to beat Japan. Even then, Iran could qualify as the best fourth-placed team.

2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup will begin on Saturday, 31 August and ends on Sunday, 15 September. So yes next summer, assuming you live in the Northern Hemisphere.

I always follow the “Norther Meteorological Seasons”, where they have the following breakdowns:

Northern Meteorological Seasons
According to the meteorological definition, the seasons begin on the first day of the months that include the equinoxes and solstices:

Summer runs from June 1 to August 31;
Fall (autumn) runs from September 1 to November 30; and
Winter runs from December 1 to February 28 (February 29 in a leap year).

After your message I got curious and looked at other definitions and saw that your message is consistent with popular seasonal definitins!
And your version is likely the correct one, because Norooz (first day of spring) is also in consistency with your definition!
