Felipe Scolari and Joachim Low each won the World Cup with their home country (2002 and 2014). Scolari would go on to lose 7-1 to Germany in 2018 for Brazil's biggest ever World Cup loss, on home soil no less. Low would guide Germany to its worse World Cup performance with a first round exit as defending champions. While both have won the World Cup but undoubtedly they will be remembered mostly for their downfall. So which one do you think was brought back to earth and then buried 6 feet under more spectacularly? I still can't decide. To me it's too close to call.

I dont think they will be remembered for their downfall.
In Germany the general opinion has been that the failure was predictable, because the whole team was somewhat "war-weary" and a fresh start is needed.
In Brazil I never saw it as the failure being put on Scolari really. It was just a generally not so strong team, that caught a very bad day. Also Scolari was not alone on the bench, he had fellow wc winners perreira and zagalo with him. Thats why the coaching was their least problem, and the Brazilian public saw it likewise.
