So I guess that whole thing about clubs not wanting to sign Iranian players really does have to do with them having an Iranian passport and politics making it a pain in the butt for our boys to transfer.
Anyways, congratulations to Arzani for getting signed by Man City. He’s a talented player.
Playing for the City group, he was already somewhat a City player. This transfer is not so suprising.
Let's hope he find his way to Man City one day, if not anything else, atleast it would boost the confidence of Iranian kids that it is possible for them to join world class teams (when Daei did it, Karimi and Hashemian followed.).
This is ridiculous. He is Iranian regardless of whether he plays for Iran or not.
Just as he is Australian regardless of whether he plays for Australia.
Moving this thread is just weird and insecure.

The difference is that he choose to be Australian ! end off ! He doesn't want to be Iranian ! We call this Vatan Forosh ! He sold Iran for money .
He chose to PLAY for Australia. Big difference. He didn't sell Iran for money. He chose to PLAY for the country that he grew up in. The country he learned to play football in. It's a perfectly fine decision.

Ok, and since he's also an Australian (according to yourself), who actually plays for the Australian NT, his case has been judged as "being an Australian", and hence the thread has been moved to the appropriate section of the site. I don't see what the problem is then?
If, let's say one day he publishes a book about (Iranian) football, written in Farsi (or something similar), then his case might be evaluated as an Iranian subject and his thread will be put in the appropriate section again.
First: Dual Citizenship means that you have both nationalities at any given time. Meaning: Even when Arzani wears the Australien jersey and plays for Australia, he is still Iranian. Therefore (to use your words) his case can not ONLY be judged as "being an Australian", but also as "being an Iranian".
Second: Even if we wrongly assume that "his case can be judged by only one of his nationalities": The thread was about him being signed by Man City. Meaning this thread is about club football, not about national teams.
Indeed, he's got both nationalities and actually does play for Australia, so in this case this subject has been judged as him being an Australian.
Like I mentioned in my previous post, in other cases the issue on hand might be judged differently, based on the subject of the matter.
It's already noteworthy that we're allowing threads about insignificant international players signing for clubs to remain open, so let's not carry this on or I'ma have to close the thread (like I intended to in the first place before changing my mind and moving it to this section).
guys calm down he will always be referred to as Australian with Iranian roots which is perfectly fine. I wish the guy all the best and will follow him in Mancity. no hard feelings.
As long as the country is occupied by Mullahs I don't blame anyone
He did want to play for Iran. (This is evident in the posts he follows in Instagram but he also wanted to improve himself by playing World Cup football, he put the offers on the table CQ choose not to take him and kill the chances of a potential star.)
