      Very tough sport. I wonder who holds the current records in the top weight class. The world snatch record is newer I heard.

                I read somewhere that it is because the weight classes were restructured in 1992. Probably a tactical maneuver around the same issue you've mentioned. The top level nowadays is 105+ kg, it was 110+ kg between 1973 to 1992. Check out https://www.reddit.com/r/weightlifti..._after_weight/
