Hosseinkhani again losing in last 30 seconds. this is happening everytime and he never learns. this is unbelievable. he was actually better than Burroughs and should win the match but once again he lost everything . I would ban him from wrestler forever.

Hadi saved the day for Iran, huge upset beating Akgul. now he has to wrestle Geno in semifinal. and Geno didn't impress in his QF. there is a chance for Hadi. if he wins this. final will be too easy for him. the other SF will be bewteen China and India and Hadi beat both of them quite easily in Jakarta.

but I'm still very upset about Yakhkeshi. this guy is really good. he lost in exactly last second ! Bonne was deadly tired but Yakhkeshi made a dumb mistake in attack ( he didn't have to attack actually) and lost 8-6 lead.

Hosseinkhani is out. Burroughs lost to Sidakov in the last second. but I think both Yazdani and Yakhkeshi will get into repechage. both have a good chance for bronze.

The only Gold up to date, which was Iran’s first international Gold medal in any sport since 1979 was won by Pahlevan Alireza Soleimani (RIP) in 1989 vs US champ Bruce Baumgartner (Big Bruce) at the World Championships.
(He had to borrow Baumgartners spare shoes to wrestle against him, since his own shoes were damaged)...
That was a big deal back then; Iran gaining its first Gold medal at a world event after revolution and beating US in 1989...

Yes, I meant Gold medal after revolution. (not first medal, I also think) I will edit the post.
Iran’s TV was playing that anthem and Iran flag above US all the time in 1989... Russia was third in that weight (only 1 third spot back then, no repechages) that was huge.

well , Hadi had his chances. he had a very good strategy for the 1st period but then again his brain just froze in second period . that match was quite winnable. Geno was dead tired.

Hadi will wrestle Russia or Hungary for bronze. he will be the favorite but Russia won't be easy at all.
Yakhkeshi has to beat Romania first to wrestle USA for bronze. both matches are winnable for him.
Yazdani has to beat Belarus first. then Cuba and if he wins he will face Russia for the bronze medal. it depends on his motivation, if he is motivated he will win all of them.

I think 2 bronze medals (or even 3) is possible from the first 4 weight classes. I think our wrestlers in general wrestled good but the result isn't good at all.

2nd day draw, TERRIBLE draw for Atri and Karimi. and also Maghsoudi. for Akbari it's OK (not easy just OK)

57, worst possible draw for Atri, he got Mongolia in first round. Asian Games champion who beat Atri in Jakarta and he is a very good wrestler. to me #1 favorite for the gold medal. if he wins, next is Belarus (pretty good but winnable) then Takahashi of Japan. (2017 World Champion) and then Uguev of Russia in SF !! you can't ask for more. this is the toughest possible road to the final. his chance is very very slim.

65, Maghsoudi is too young and inexperienced and he got Olympic Champion Khinchegashvili in first round ! even if he wins the rest of road is hard for him. I just hope he wrestles well. beating the Olympic Champion is too much to ask. he is just 18.

79, easy first round vs France and then former World Silver medalist from Japan. which is winnable next is Uzbekistan (or Romania) again winnable and Azerbaijan or Belarus in semifinal. all of them are pretty good but if Akbari is in shape he can beat all of them. he was injured lately and I don't know about his current shape. he has a chance for medal.

92, very tough draw for Karimi. after easy first round. he will face 2012 Olympic Champion from Azerbaijan. next is Russia and either USA or Georgia in semifinal. I think he has a chance but he can lose to any of these wrestlers. this American wrestler Cox is a bad matchup for Karimi. he beat Karimi twice (including one in the Olympics)

bottom line. no realistic chance for Atri and Maghsoudi . I hope Akbari and Karimi win medal here. Karimi has uphill task ahead of him

This Tylor guy is Gorbeh-Siahe Hasan. At 6-2 he needed to manage the match. I am not worried about Yazdani he will bounce back, he is joy to watch. As someone who grow up watching this sport i can say he is probably among our top 10 ever wrestlers and god knows we had many great ones.

Hope Tylor goes all the way and Yazdani wins bronze.

کشتی گیران ایرانی در ۴ وزن دوم هم با قرعه های سختی مواجه شدند؛ در حالی که خودشان هم با تجربه کمی پای به مسابقات جهانی می گذارند.
به گزارش "ورزش سه"، مراسم قرعه کشی 4 وزن دوم رقابت های کشتی آزاد قهرمانی جهان عصر امروز در شهر بوداپست مجارستان برگزار شد و نمایندگان ایران حریفان خود را شناختند.
ایران امروز در ۴ وزن نخست به توفیق چندانی دست پیدا نکرد و کشتی گیران باتجربه ای مثل حسن یزدانی، مصطفی حسین خانی و پرویز هادی از رسیدن به فینال بازماندند و همچنین باقر یخکشی هم در اولین تجربه جهانی خود به گروه شانس مجدد رفت.
فردا علاوه بر برگزاری رقابت های مقدماتی ۴ وزن دوم، مسابقات شانس مجدد،*رده بندی و فینال ۴ وزن نخست برگزار می شود که حسن یزدانی و باقر یخکشی در ۸۶ و ۶۱ کیلوگرم باید ۳ کشتی را تا رسیدن به مدال برنز برنده باشند. همچنین پرویز هادی هم در جدال رده بندی پای به میدان خواهد گذاشت.
باید در روز دوم امیدوار بود که ایران بتواند با داشتن کشتی گیران جوان و با انگیزه خود برخلاف روز نخست فینالیست داشته باشد. البته که تقریبا در هر ۴ وزن شاید به جز وزن ۷۹ کیلوگرم که عزت الله اکبری حضور دارد، کشتی گیران ایرانی با سخت ترین قرعه ها مواجه شدند و کار دشواری پیش رو خواهند داشت.
نتایج قرعه کشی نمایندگان ایران در چهار وزن دوم رقابت های کشتی آزاد قهرمانی جهان به شرح زیر است:
* در وزن 57 کیلوگرم که 27 نفر حضور دارند رضا اطری در دور اول به مصاف «باخبایار اردنبات» دارنده مدال برنز جهان و طلای بازی های آسیایی از مغولستان می رود و در صورت غلبه بر این کشتی گیر در دور دوم با «ولادیسلاو آندریف» دارنده مدال برنز جهان و اروپا از بلاروس کشتی می گیرد. «یوکی تاکاهاشی» قهرمان جهان از ژاپن و «زائور اوگویف» دارنده مدال نقره اروپا از روسیه نیز در گروه اطری حضور دارند. این یعنی سبک وزن کشتی آزاد ایران تقریبا در سخت ترین قرعه ممکن قرار گرفته و باید دید در دومین تجربه جهانی خود چه عملکردی خواهد داشت.



* در وزن 65 کیلوگرم امیرحسین مقصودی در دور نخست با «ولادمیر خینچیگاشویلی» قهرمان جهان و المپیک از گرجستان مبارزه می کند و در صورت پیروزی در این دیدار در دور بعد به مصاف «صلاح الدین کلیچسالیان» از ترکیه می رود. در این وزن 32 نفر حضور دارند. در گروه مقصودی «لوگان استیبر» قهرمان جهان از آمریکا، «احمد چاکایف» دارنده مدال برنز جهان از روسیه و «واسیلی شوپتار» دارنده مدال برنز جهان از اوکراین حضور دارند. این یعنی جوان ۱۸ ساله ایرانی هم با قرعه بسیار سختی مواجه شده و فقط شگفتی سازی او می تواند برابر این حریفان بزرگ باعث رسیدنش به مراحل پایانی شود.



** در وزن 79 کیلوگرم که 26 نفر حضور دارند عزت اله اکبری در دور اول با «جانی بور» دارنده مدال نقره زیر 23 سال اروپا از فرانسه کشتی می گیرد و در صورت پیروزی بر این حریف در دور دوم به مصاف برنده کشتی میان «میهالی ناگی» دارنده مدال برنز اروپا از مجارستان و «سوسوکه تاکاتانی» دارنده مدال نقره جهان از ژاپن می رود. «جبرئیل حسن اف» دارنده مدال برنز المپیک از آذربایجان، «گریگوریان» دارنده مدال نقره اروپا از ارمنستان، «رشید قربان اف» دارنده مدال برنز جهان و قهرمان آسیا از ازبکستان و «علی شعبان اف» دارنده مدال برنز جهان از بلاروس در گروه اکبری حضور دارند. این کشتی گیر ایرانی که سابقه نایب قهرمانی در جهان را هم دارد، به نسبت با قرعه آسان تری نسبت به ۲ سبک وزن ایران مواجه شده است.

* در وزن 92 کیلوگرم که ۲۱ نفر حضور دارند، علیرضا کریمی در دور نخست با «ریکاردو بائز» از آرژانتین کشتی می گیرد و در صورت پیروزی بر این حریف در دور دوم به مصاف «شریف شریف اف» دارنده مدال طلای المپیک و جهان از آذربایجان می رود. این هم یک بدشانسی دیگر در قرعه کشی به حساب می آید چون کریمی آماده باید با کشتی گیری که مدعی اصلی این وزن است، مبارزه کند. در گروه کریمی «جی دن کاکس» دارنده مدال برنز جهان و المپیک از آمریکا و «باتیربک چاکولوف» از روسیه حضور دارند تا مشخص شود قهرمان بازی های آسیایی در وزن ۹۷ کیلوگرم کار سختی پیش رو خواهد داشت.

Taylor went all the way and Yazdani has a shot to fight through repechages and get to Bronze. Sure, its sad he won’t get Gold but I am not too worried about Yazdani. He is one of the greatest wrestlers in the world and very young also who has won every Gold medal at major events he could win so far. It was a good lesson and experience for him. He will win Gold and championships again, no worries here!

Hadi has a shot at Bronze medal also, and I wish him best of luck!

Yazdani and Yakhkeshi both made it to the bronze medal match, we will have 3 wrestlers for bronze today. Haid vs Russia, Yazdani vs Russia and Yakhkeshi vs USA

Maghsoudi wrestled OK but lost to the Olympic champion 7-3, I doubt Khinchegashvili can make it to the final and even if he does. still uphill task for Maghsoudi to beat all those big names.

but Atri broke my heart once again. first he beat the Mongolian wrestler (who was #1 favorite in my opinion) thanks to UWW stupid program he had to wrestle his next match vs Belarus only 15 minutes later against someone who had bye in first round . he was down 3-1 but scored a takedown he was going to win it 3-3 but he went for a gut-wrench scored a 2 but also gave up a 2 and lost the match 5-5 . because Belarus scored the last point !! as easy as that. he just had to do nothing to win the match. 3-3 was enough and he was on top ! HE WAS ON TOP ! he just had to do nothing.

Akbari and Karimi won their first matches but Akbari didn't impress me. 2nd round will be tough for both of them
