Damn it. Korea almost beat China but lost at the very end by 4 points. Would have made our job much easier.

We need to beat the Philippines by (preferebly by at least) +16 and hope hosts China lose at the same time to Nigeria. That's indeed very realistic. Imo it should happen.

I don't see Nigeria letting China win. Nigeria by themselve is currently in a fight with Tunisia for Africa's spot similiarily to our fight with China.

guys we need 2 things to qualify

1) we have to beat the Philippines, and we need Nigeria to beat China and the total margin in both games has to be +16

but there is one other thing we have to worry about. the first tiebreaker is rank in the group. we are currently second behind Tunisia and China will be 2nd too if they lose to Nigeria, in that case they will go to W/L record (equal) and then points difference
but this is possible for Iran to beat Philippines by +100 and still finish 3rd in the group. how ? if Angola beat Tunisia by 7-14 pts difference. in that case we will be 3rd in 3-way tiebreak between Iran, Tunisia and Angola. (because we beat ANG by 9 but lost to TUN by 12, we are -3 in that possible tiebreak) I know this is unlikely but well who knows. Tunisia is a much better team than Angola though.

I like our chance, I think we can do it. China had hard time even against Korea. Nigeria can even beat them by double digit. and fortunately both games will be held at the same time and Nigeria won't play soft, they have to beat China to qualify.

It is doable but not with this iran team.
Honestly why should we qualify for the olympics? To gave up a 20 pts lead again? to give the first win to teams like Tunisia? to not be able to use past solid games against Spain, France, USA, Greece, etc.. in front of Puerto Rico and Tunisia?

Angola beat Philippines in extra time and we beat them with 10 points margin. So Philippines should be doable if the boys don't get emotional in the last quarter again!!

Tunisia just beat Angola topping our group. This was good in 2 ways:
1) No more tiebreak in our group to worry about.
2) Nigeria must beat China to qualify to the Olympics themselves
