Prior to the Basketball world championship, Iran is playing friendlies games :

We won against Portugal, Denmark and Slovakia

Iran lost to Greece : 82-69
Iran won against Hungary : 90-82
Iran lost to Greece again : 88-58

Iran's next friendlies : against Nigeria, Montenegro and Poland from Aug. 19 to Aug. 25.

Iran also beat Russia and Jordan. win against Russia was impressive.

the preparation looks good. hope they can deliver at the World Cup. both Puerto Rico and Tunisia are beatable. but we have to play our A game.

beside that this acts as the Olympic qualification, the best ranked Asian team qualifies directly. China is the clear favorite by being in a dream group.

yes hamed and samad are in the team. iran had 2 decent showings vs greece

Greece are a very strong team. They are ranked 8th by FIBA World Rankings. No shame in losing to them.

They also have some quality NBA players that are beasts too: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo. (Giannis Antetokounmpo is also a beast on NBA2K for anybody that plays )

both. obviously the main reason is coach's personal problem with him but the coach also has some issues with Haddadi but he is still in the team because he is not replaceable.

I follow the Iranian league and Kazemi is just a shadow of the player we knew. he could still make the final 12 (or maybe the starting lineup) if our coach wasn't stupid and stubborn. but it won't be a big big loss for Iran.

something happened during the a training session.

but the whole thing started with this stupid interview , players got angry and it seems few things happened inside the team. we never had our "full squad" during the World Cup qualifiers.
