    The new Iranian Wrestling Master!?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGe-jp5Gjnw
Just found this game (Quater Finals of Ranking Series) between US-Champion Kyle Snyder and Unknown (at least to me) Mohammadian. It is incredible what Mohammadian did to Snyder!

PS: Apparently he was able to win the Ranking Series! https://unitedworldwrestling.org/eve...3-020f14733af0

Incredible win. Mohammadian was world Bronze medalist in 2015 and even back then he looked like someone with a great potential to me. But he was unfortunately banned for 4 years due to doping and has just returned back from suspension.

His father was also two time Olympic silver medalist and one of greatest Iranian free-style wrestlers in history.

I don't know what happened to Reza Yazdani, but Mohammadian seems to be a promising replacement. Would be a dream come true if an Iranian could defeat Sadulaev in a major Tournament! Who knows, maybe Mohammadian is the guy to do it.

Reza Yazdani didn't participate in the Takhti cup so he is unlikely to have a chance for the Olympics.

Don't forget Alireza Karimi. He is still a prime candidate for 97 kg if he comes back from the injury.

Wasn't Alireza Karimi at 86 kg?

originally yes but since Hassan Yazdani moved up to 86kg 3 years ago. Karimi moved up to 92kg which is a non-Olympic weight and to make the Olympic team he wanted to move up one more weight to 97kg ! he will be too small for 97kg. he is a very good wrestler but size matters in wrestling, considering his injury I don't think he has a chance to make the Olympic team.

Reza Yazdani is also 100% out of the picture, Takhti Cup was the last chance for him or anybody else.

Mohammadian has a very good chance to be our representative at the Olympics, but he has to qualify the weight first. Iran don't have the quota in this weight YET.

wow impressive! Reza Yazdani is 34 now anyways so how competitive he would be in olympics is questionable.

Hassan Yazdani also had successful op on torn meniscus and doctors said he will be fine for olympics.

Our upcoming Greco-roman team is as good if not better.
We have won the past couple of world Junior and U23 championships.

Emamai really impressed me with his technique, not to mention, he's extremely quick.

Bright future for both of these guys.
