Let me be honest...i couldnt stand Aleksanyan even before that at all...tbh i actually disliked him.
But the behaviour he showed made me his Nr.1 Anti-Fan and i will now gladly cheer for every opponent he faces.
He instantly took the Medal from his Neck and after the UWW Guy came to him and told him "pls put it back on" he just denied that with a angry gesture....then he showed absolutely zero respect not even handclapping to the other guys and as soon as the anthem was done he tried to flee from the Podium but again some Official told him "pls go that way with the other Athlets".....it took him decades to finally agree to that and then theres several stations you have to stand for few seconds for the mandatory pictures....he tried to flee from that as well....at the last station he finally had enough and didnt even stand with the others for 5 seconds for the last picture.....a lady told him to pls get back to the others but he declined again and was never seen again...........
I can absolutely understand you have like zero motivation after loosing an olympic final...but his behaviour was absolutely unacceptable!
There are bad loosers......really bad loosers...and then theres Aleksanyan.
Thanks even more to Hadi for the now even sweeter win knowing how much he did hurt him with that loss
I saw that, it was embarrassing and pathetic. Especially considering he has won gold before at this tournament and even silver/bronze. Just embarrassing behavior and I’m glad saravi manhandled him

We need more Lopez's and less Aleksanyan's in this sport (and all sports frankly).

I like Esmaili a lot... but my god he has to be more careful. This is the kind of mistake that can ruin careers.

He certainly learned his lesson about not celebrating too early.

His coache’s job is to tell him to keep his elbows in. Can’t have them out to grab for a headlock any more.

My expectation of FS is 3 to max 4 :
Zare, Yazdani, Amouzad (and hopefully Azarpira)

Azarpira looked excellent at his last outing.
My prediction is Gold for Zare. Silver or Bronze for Azarpira depending on his bracket.
As for Yazdani, my heart says Gold especially with Taylor out but this is the first very serious tournament not counting qualifiers where we see him after the shoulder rehab. In individual matches he doesnt look like he has missed a step but with the intensity and stamina needed for all of these back to back games at the olympics, I am worried about how he will hold up. If he smokes his way into the semi's like usual, then I feel more confident about Gold. Otherwise it could be silver/bronze. He is either way getting a medal no matter what. Minimum we will have 1 Gold and 2 other medals after the dust settles in FS. If the stars align, we could be talking about 3 golds. Now, if the GR boys can win their finals tomorrow, this could be the greatest olympic wrestling performance in the history of our nation.

People are sleeping on Emami. On a good day he can even win it all. He can lose it all too. But he is no joke.

Same, but its his first senior year. He will learn.

Today will be a good day. Given Yazdanis shoulder holding the brunt of competitions, he will win gold. He ought to.

To Sarlak we say khaste nabashi pahlevan, he has gone through hell coming to Paris just to help out the team. When called he show up like a soldier. Now he knows he is a soldier. I think this will set his head straight and make him medal, also given the brackets. Sarlak on gheyrat is always a medal threat.

And all of you: Always remember: Our ancestors are with us. No doubt about it. I woke up yesterday feeling it, believed it and saw it happen. Koshti farhange maast, erse pedarie maast. We will make waves.

Lets go for that one 86kg final and light weight medal.

In the Tokyo Olympics 67kg Greco Roman Gold medal match, Mohammad Reza Geraei defeated Parviz Nasibov (of Ukraine) to secure Gold for Iran

In this Paris Olympics 67kg Greco Roman Gold medal match, Saeid Esmaeili will face off against the same Parviz Nasibov

I’m sure the Ukrainian will be highly motivated. Hopefully Esmaeili is up to the task and sees the same fate as Geraei.
