Bulgarian deserved to win....congrats to him...nevertheless second passisity was a joke...ref wanted to give us the point right after break(what is usual) but Rais Doshak denied...could have went other way if if if.....but as said the Bulgarian won fair and deserved. Still congrats and dastet nakone for this bright Silver that we gladly put in our Medal Bag.

I am hoping for 3 gold in freestyle. 86kg 125kg should definitely happen if Yazdani and Zare do what they are supposed to do. I am also hoping Amouzad takes gold in 65kg but that is by far the toughest weight with lots of contenders.
I would be very happy with any medal in 74 and 97.

Watched the SF and Final matches today in between work. Had to pause many times.
overall, Great day for our nation.
esmaeli was a beast, what a run. Well deserved.
Yazdani was cool as a Persian Cucumber resting in a Damavand river. No Brooks, but should keep his pace and rhythm up for the final.
Mohamadi didn’t wrestle today. He was a passive observer. Wished he had made more attacks and not waited for an opponent mistake. But a silver is nothing to be ashamed of.

Yunes Emami ended up in the qualification round vs Frank Chamizo. Its going to be a very tough task for him to medal. Emami had his best year in 2022. In the worlds semis he lost to Dake by criteria. I thought he was really turning the corner as a wrestler, but he has been super inconsistent the last 2 years. If he beats Chamizo, he has a winnable match against a Guinea's wrestler. Then it would be Dake. That's his path to medal. Dake will probably run the table on his side, so losing to him gets him in a repechage.
Iman Mahdavi is also in the 74kg bracket as a refugee.

Russian and iranian competing for Bulgaria, azeri for Ukraine, kenyans competing for Bahrain and turkey... Olympics became a big joke. Why don't they allow a neutral banner and/or refugee instead of let nationality switch like that ??

The Russian guy wrestling for Bahrain is probably the best wrestler in the world now and barringg a total disaster he will win gold at 97kg so Iran winning gold at this weight is not a real possibility.
74kg also has Kyle Dake as the number 1 gold shot. On top of that Emami has to faceoff against Chamizo which is a beast of a wrestler to even get into the 1/8 finals. If he manages that he will have to beat Dake in the 1/4 finals. It is unlikely he will get past Dake especially if his match against Chamizo is tough which is to be expected.
This is all to say our realistic shots for gold are in 65 86 and 125kg weights. No real chance at 74 and 97
