    Looking at the odds
amouzad 2nd fave but it’s very tight
    emami 10th
    azapira 4th
    zare favourite

    yazdani fave

    weightlifting
    alibadi 3rd
    davoudi 4th

so going by the odds we will get
    2 Gold
    1 silver
    1 bronze

I know odds don’t mean anything as the medals we have for so far on wrestling we weren’t “supposed” to get…

For me Yazdani and Zares competition are the most important.

I am scouting on Ramazanov and honestly can't say he is anything special. He is a 79 kilogramer, 10 cm shorter than yaz. He has bumped up for these competitions.

First of all Ramazanov lost to a Turkish wrestler by double the score that goes on to lose to Myles Amine 8-8. He has met and beat Daulatbekov in Zagreb Grand prix tournament this year 8-5. Both in 2020 and 2021 in the Russian nationals he came behind both Kuruguliev and Naifonov.

As a wrestler he has been one step under both Kuruguliev and Amine.

Ramazanov is good at scrambles and badalkari. He had the perfect game plan for Brooks. Knowing Brooks dont score alot, he did what any sane person does that himself is not a genuine tech fall guy. Ie ultra offensive himself. He did badalkari. He is the ultimate badalkar+bad-badan.

Kuruguliev tried Badalkari, but Yazdani just kept showering him with his offensive skills.

As long as Yazdanis body is holding up as today, knock on woods, he is the super clear fav to win this.

So we finished first in GR, right? Not that it really matters in the Olympics but still.

              Razor Sharp on point analysed
Ramazanov also was very lucky to even punch his Ticket to Paris as he lost his Chance to qualify by European Championships and only with a Takedown with less than 5 seconds left at the Istanbul Qualifier he finally qualified for Paris.
Since Yazdani already defeated one Dagestani on his way to the Final...he will do it once more and hopefully get his 2nd Gold.

Bah bah, who would have thought that this would happen. Congratulations to everybody! If I'm not mistaken koshtie farangi is only popular in Khuzestan...

I also believe that even Saravi who is Mazandarani moved to Khuzestan and trained there all his life, right?

We are all happy about Esmaili, he is young, dynamic, technically rich and sharp but lets be honest whatever was supposed to go right for him have gone right and had luck on his side! But it will not be always like this!
He is very young but if he wants to make name for himself, he need to mature his game, play with clock, otherwise he will become like Geraei, won some matches at last seconds but eventually he was exposed!
Nevertheless sweet gold medal for this very young kid who seems to be a very simple and sweet guy just with the way he talks

In all honesty, you are completely right. In fact I think you are spot on in everything you say.

Just a nuance: some things about him are not about luck. When Nasibov tried to throw him: of course nasibov was tired. But Esmaeili had the calmness of mind not to tangle his legs with Nasibovs. Then he just pulled all his weight downwards. To do this you have to be relaxed and have focus. Not just focus about calmness and to not tangle legs, but also which angle and direction to push your body weight at. IF he had panicked like most of todays tarsoo wrestlers he wouldve panicked and not managed his weight on Nasibov and also as just mentioned he wouldve tangled his legs with Nasibov.

I think the difference between him and older geraei is that he actually has a brain and uses it. He commits idiotic mistakes like a young buck but he redeems them. As long as he stays humble I am 100 percent convinced he will work on the important things u mention.

Now this is what Ive been trying to hammer in and always think about. These small details wins championships. If he had not focused for one split second, we would have another silver medalist today. Just shows why we are underperforming in olympics and are excelling at worlds where we dont dramatize everything.

What a nice gesture by Mohammad reza Gerai. He posted story on his instagram praising Esmaili and saying:
Parcham 67 kg hala hala ha dastete délaver
