If you feel bad. Read this coming from a guy that did wrestling and have many wrestlers around me. This is coming from a person that probably wanted this win more than 99 percent of all forum members.....

    - I want to make somethings clear. As many have pointed out We all knew how bad the injury was and the whole tournament for him was. We never knew the extent but shoulder injuries ruins carreers. Hassan is 100 percent done and this was his last chance. There is no way he wont have to fight Ghassempour for team spot next year and he will lose even if he tries to take up the spot. Federation wont allow it.

    - Sending Ghassempour on 86 kg would be a big risk. Hassan was much safer. Not because of Taylor. Even with his shoulder injury it was worth a shot. He doesnt have bad nerves in Olympics. He is unique in this department. Now Ghassempour may have as good nerves and mental fortitude: but they all have bravado in world championships and suddenly choke at olympic stage. I am hundred percent sure the coaches and federation feels Ghassempour is up next and will get his shot.

    - It just got disclosed the extent of the problems DURING the championships. He dislocated the should FIVE times leading up to the final. It was not something sudden. The mere fact that he rolled over everyone and gave up his body for this. Not even crying shows what kind of champ he is. NOW KIDS KNOW HOW TO BEHAVE IN OLYMPICS. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR MENTALLY WEAK MEN AND WOMEN. He has set a standard that is good for iranian wrestling moving forward. U guys will see the results of acts like this in the future. Mark my words.

    - Seasoned MMA fighter dislocate it one time and cry like babies. TJ Dillashaw became a bitch after one dislocation. Jon Jones cried like a bitch too. Hassan Yazdani is a BAD person to face

    - Medals come and go and this is a sport of perpetual championships. One day you lose one day you win. Ramazanov will know all his life that he is a little fraud. Its the person and how he wrestled that counts. Not taking sterioids like the russians and give bad ref calls to opponents when steroids fail. Fighting under false flags. Doing everything to god damn win. Championships come and go. Champions remain immortal. Its all about the status of the NATION. How are iranian wrestlers regarded? Nobody cares about ramazanov and he will be forgotten. Nobody cares about Bulgaria. People and fans care about the sport. The persons that give the most to the sport are remembered! There will always be shadows cast over russians as they cheat immensely. Nobody worth the name take amount of russian medals seriously and USA is a continent with high GDP they can mass produce wrestlers. Iran is up there with them exactly because of these facts in peoples regards when u talk about where a fine wrestler is from.

    - Muhammad Ali wasnt that great of a boxer. Who cares? He was still the greatest. People see him as a goat for a reason. Yazdani has already won it all. He took 1 olympic gold Lopez took 5. Its not all about competitions or how many times you repeat a feat. Time is the ultimate ruler in this world. How long does your body hold? Lopez body held for a long time. Saitievs too. Sadulaevs didnt. He is still a better wrestler than many of the persons as decorated. My point is that iranian style is heavy on the body. Iranians work with shoulders in wrestling to a higher extent than other wrestling nations for example. Sourian couldnt get 3 olympic gold. Neither did Dabir. 2004 exactly the same thing happened to him. He couldnt defend his title. When KARELIN says SOURIAN is a goat whilst not having to say it, then Sourian is the GOAT. When SAITIEV says nobody can CLINCH like Reza Yazdani, then its Yazdani that is the LHW of his generation (Sadulaev doesnt even come close to the likes of R Yazdani, Gatsalov and prime Gadisov). Dagestanis call facing iranians EL Clasico. One day Real wins the other day Barcelona does.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: if you are too upset with this result. We all feel with you. But for Gods sake cheer up. RE-EXAMINE AND RE-EVALUATE why you are following this sport. Yazdani doesnt need another gold to rub his ego neither do we. He took Gold in 2016 under MUCH TOUGHER circumstances. He IS the greatest. He is building new generations of champions right now and invests heavily in Mazandaran. He has moved on.

Youtube is full of clips like this. Where american enthusiasts are in awe of yazdanis fight IQ. His decision making and technique. Every school in USA teach IRANIAN techniques. They drill Iranian wrestling traditions to their kids. Not just to beat iranians but also because they respect the techniques and love them. Aaron Brooks is a Hassan Yazdani fan. He didnt say David Taylor. He didnt say russians. Think of it. Penn state wrestlers love iranians.

Look how Tedeyev acts in front of Yazdani. He loves Yazdani more than his own wrestlers. The guy only posted Yazdani pictures, text and videos for a whole year on social media. Why can't we appreciate him like the Caucasus Russians are doing? And just look at Yazdani, a super star amongst Ossetians, Dagestanis and Chechens from Chechnya, he is so kind when talking about Naifonov after defeating him. They all melt lol. They try to convince him to compete at their tournaments (alans, as Tedeyev is Ossetian) for 1. his competency 2. because he is a superstar amongst them.

To mentally prepare u guys as fans for the finals tomorrow with Zare Battling it out:

Learn to think this way ahead of Zares fight tomorrow too. Zare has with his entrance into HW revolutionized the weight category. Everyone will remember the innovation of having small light heavyweights. I repeat this. The best guys nowadays arent Belly monsters as Oracle puts it. They are shorter, agile and more technical.

Why is this important: They have made the HW fights watchable. HW was when I grew up redundant. It was closer to sumo wrestling than olympic wrestling. Two fat guys just pushing each other like King Kong vs Godzilla. Then one of the two tall fat guys would win in boring and arbritary ways. They would gas easy and they wouldnt not be able to pull moves or even doing a simple gut wrench. When people talk about HW being entertaining they will say something like: "there was this one iranian guy and he was so good. I actually started to look forward to HW bouts."

Today it is different. Thanks to Gable Stevenson but most of all Zare as he stayed in the business of wrestling and probably is a better wrestler.

Tonight was heartbreaking for me. 💔
I was waiting for this day for months to see a historic moment in person. My first time ever watching wrestling inside the stadium. We were over the moon with Zare's win and then...
He seemed fine in yesterday's matches so we were speculating whether he was injured in the warm up or if the Bulgarian knew about the injury and attacked the shoulder from the start.

I don't know if it was reported but after the match Yazdani's father who was not sitting far from me fainted so there was a long pause in matches until the medics came and took him away.

Also there was a huge angry verbal argument between Yazdani's coach and UWW medic Dr Shaygan after the match. Apparently the coaches asked for the shoulder to be taped during injury time but it wasn't done for whatever reason!

I will be in the arena again tomorrow. I just hope Zare's gold can relieve the pain a little.

Been through so many disappointing moments in sport, nothing phases me that much anymore. but when I saw yazdani held his arm few seconds into the match it really hurt.

I will only get over this if iran athletics get 3 golds in the next 2 days.
                  5 athletics 3 golds
Come on iran let's sss goooo.

Great win by Rahman. But my biggest fear of the draw was the pace Retherford brings. Rahman looked tired at the end. While the Albanian had a cake walk his first match. Hope he recovers fast.

as i said...at 100% Amouzad is a THREAD! He adjusted perfectly to seniors after his dominance in juniors. His speed and long arms/legs gives every opponent a tuff time.
