This is f*cked up. Not only because we've experienced our athletes iced out for crap like this, but now any future tournament wins by our wrestlers will have an asterisk by them since the Russian greats were blocked from participating. "Let's keep politics out of sports"...my A-S-S.

Most recent GR seeding. What an amazing group of young Iranian wrestlers.

Who’s Iran taking to the Asian championships next month? Today was the deadline for final entries.

So asian wrestling championships has been taking place this week. Iran surprisingly became 2nd in team ranking after Kazakstan in Greco even though we won 4 gold medals. Although to be fair the team was pretty young and inexperienced.

Freestyle started today. Iran won 3 out of 5 golds in the first day but is behind India in team points. Mohammadian got the gold easily as expected. Savadkouhi won gold too. But the best moment was Iran's greatest wrestling prospect 19 year old Amouzad winning gold in his first 65kg outing since moving up in weight by beating Bajrang one of the world's best in this weight. 65kg is an Olympic weight and is considered freestyle's toughest and most congested weight and one in which Iran hasn't done well for many years. Let's hope amouzad can continue his progress and reach his immense potential.

Iran won another 3 golds and 1 silver today and comfortably topped the freestyle medal table with a young team. IMO we currently have one of our greatest wrestling generations in our history. Can't wait for Asian games and world champs.
