3-2 Firouzpour wins a tight fight against Nolf. Was overall a better wrestler. Next is Burroughs. He will surely win.

Summary and analysis: USA 6 - Iran 4
Dorostkar used this tournament for experimenting. This is for as long as I remember the first time Iran experiments at World Cup and it showed. Finally we have figured out how to beat Burroughs, eventhough it was only a matter of time as he is ageing. Dont let him take out the distance and then drive underhooks and go for his legs. When you reach last minute you should stall as he has late fight clutches where he usually wins. The bright side is that 79 kg is now ours for the taking.
Momeni was a disaster
Elahi was bound to lose but the american was cheating twisting his legs and going for forbidden moves. At one point he was trying to break Elahis arm.
Diakomihailis was no where as good as Amouzad but he had a good gameplan of fleeing the mat and avoiding pushouts. Amouzad controlled the fight.
Amir Yazdani looked lethargic and couldnt underhook even if his life depends on it. Still has flaws with how he position his legs and is extremely vulnerable against shorter opponents. It wasnt made easier for him that Pantaleo is a muscular freak. Still Yazdani had a clutch win and was robbed. Also Pantaleo avoided pushouts.
Firouzpour had a good fight against Nolf that positioned well and used his height advantage well. Still Firouzpour was the more technical wrestler and managed to find ways of scoring and almost had more takedowns. Karimi should watch this and take a lesson.
Karimi was the biggest dissappointment for me. He is technical yes, but he cant ever manage against long and strong americans. He had nothing going for him until Valencia got tired. Even then he couldnt manage to complete his takedowns. This guy was good at some point but in my opinion has no business being in the national team. He needs to get phased out eventually.
At 92 AM firouzpour couldnt manage the athleticism of the american. He had a good game plan but couldnt reach Jacksons legs. He didnt have the speed either to shoot.
Snyder against Ghassempour just showed that Ghassempour didnt have the weight.
Masoumi did good and will dominate this weight class for years to come. We are spoiled to have both him and Zare at this weight. They should be extremly careful in NT and in the future just pick the one that is in best shape.
Overall analysis: The americans had the judges favouring them imo. But still they had a gameplan of disrupting iranian underhooks. They all started wave their arms and disrupt getting underhooked. They also did the magic david taylor trick getting to knees close to the end of the mat. Here dorostkar failed miserably. The iranian wrestlers should drive their underhook with more "violence" and do forcethroughs. This is something that Yazdani has mastered. One of Hasans strenghts is that he can force the underhooks. If you manage to assert a underhook against an opponent that is constantly waveing their arms at your face they will have to start thinking about being in overhook and it will make them stop. This is where they should learn from amouzad that was the only guy except firouzpour that managed to underhook well. Also gameplan failed because they need to get better at roundby of opponents that are on their knees. When they see opponent getting on knees they should round them. Amir Yazdani did this right at the end of the fight but those shit refs took the fight from him.
To sum it up:
+ Dorostkar is experimenting and figured out Burroughs.
- Dorostkar need gameplan against stalling on knees and need to teach the wrestlers to assert underhooks with force.

Whats most impressive with Savadkouhi is that he managed to score his first TD from a heavy snap transisitioned to ankle pick. Second TD he just does a roundby after snapping him. Then he gut wrenches JB to score 6p!
The way Sidakov managed to score against burroughs besides having fast leg shots is by underhooking him, but not just whichever underhook. He uses so called punch underhooks controlling Burroughs elbows. He drives his head down toward Burroughs chest underhooking and punches up Burroughs elbows. After that he goes after Burroughs leg on with other hand that was busy elbow controlling Burroughs other arm.
Ive seen Savadkouhi do punch underhooks before in Asian champs.
My total impression is that I dont believe this is a fluke win in any regard. I truly believe Savadkouhi is a terrible matchup for JB! He can punch underhook himself into TD. He knows not to give JB distance. He snaps the living shit out of JB. I rather believe the first meeting between JB and Savadkouhi was a fluke to JBs advantage!
