Loved Shakeri performance vs Mendez. Seriously calm and calculated under pressure, great clock management.

League fight between Reza Shakeri and Amouzad. 2-1 for amouzad but it was quite a close fight! Shakeri is a kid! (Amouzad is ofc young too!) This is tremendous.

Looks like Shakeri is the real deal. He will imho def transition into senior national team. This is also good news as it means we are stacked at a stacked weight and will be contenders for 61-70 kg for the future. We have many options now. Amouzad can transition into 61 or 70. Shakeri maybe at 65 and 70 kg depending on how his body will develop.

We are stacked at 61-65 now, since earlier at 86-92 kg, at 79 and at 125 kg. Semistacked at 97 kg. We may also due to shakeri introduction become stacked at 70 kg.

If we find solution for gad kotoleh weightclass and for 74, we will tear team USA a new arsehole.

                Ghasempour confirmed out of worlds

Wont recover from injury in time. Azarpira (21) takes his spot at 92kg.

huge loss. Too bad, was looking forward to watching him.

silver lining is that it gives the youngsters a chance to step up and show their potential.

Azarpira cant lose really; if he doesnt perform well, no one will bat an eye. But if he surprises, he can really raise his prospects.

There are 2 seeded FS Israelis at 74kg and 92kg at the upcoming world championships.

With Ghasempour injured, less of an issue with his replacement (who is unseeded and probably not expected to go super far at this tournament).

But we have Emami seeded 4th in 74kg, which could be an issue.
