Look at this. Every offensive move by opponents must be turned into a living hell. These kind of things put psychological pressure on opponents, believe me.

abdevali kind of ruined himself. He got way too involved in the haghamo khordan BS narrative and started going crazy a bit.

Sad bc he would have been a gold medal favorite in tokyo if on top form

About the only Iranian athlete whre thi9s is 1000% true is Abdevali. Saresho boridan in 2012 London. The boy was shoe in for gold that year.. Plus couple of years later he should have won gold in Asian Championships in South Korea where judges again stole his gold medal.

You have a good point. That happend to me often. Messi didint want to come to WC 2014, but came and played against iran, you know how that went. Weather is good in Norway, no forrest fire.

But again, I know there is some problems traveling outside Iran because of Covid. And you cant buy a pass cart for the week, you have to buy 7 tickets.

Wow I mean you could see how much the pressure to medal had affected him in that bronze match too, just looked shell shocked from anxiety once he had stepped on the mat.

Our wrestling team SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY needs a sports psychologist to work with them and get them into the killer mindset. They have the talent.

The team is already selected for 61 kg, 79 kg, 86 kg, 125 kg.

The rest will be selected by a criteria of in house competition and/or world junior championships.

Wrestlers from Olympic team that will not be selected with 100 percent certainty: 57 kg, 74 kg, 65 kg.

Gonna do some scouting on incoming wrestlers to national team soon.

Good news: They send more and more wrestlers to minor tournaments. Poland was obvious but also Yasar Dogu. It really looks like the wrestling federation is adressing the issue of transition from junior to senior level. Amouzad 2x world junior champ was beat by fall by Uguev, lost in a close fight to Atri for olympic selection and then won Yasar Dogu and Takhti cup.

The federation has this problem of selection tournament to national team involves TOO MANY close fights. This makes it extremely hard for coaches to pick. Amouzad has one really bad loss to uguev and a close one to atri. Common sense would predict that Atri is no1 ... but if we have these close fights, the federation has to come up with a strategy where they invest in both wrestlers and work on the DEPTH of squads.

Amouzad is much younger than Atri which makes it hard to tell anything from his loss to Uguev at individual world cup too and he has shown development since then. I predict Amouzad having a really good world championships.

Honestly could be epic to plan a trip to Oslo, have never been to Norway before, and combining it with this tournament would be cool

We also have more smooth transition in 86/92 kg than before. Ghassempour (2x u-23 world champ) has had much time to adapt to senior level where they sent him to asian championships. Amouzad has had much time now. These two weight classes I predict at least bronze. Ghassempour even silver/gold if he meet Cox in final.

Amouzad has massive potential. his dimantling of kids his age is just funny.

here he is with his idol.

his physique (very lanky in addition to strong) and energy levels + technique all give him the fundamentals to be a future champ
