Dabir teaching Cadets and younger how to combat sprawling by pushing knees forward, some shooting feints and easy TDs and also some good elbow control.

Kids need to learn this level of technique before entering NT perimeters and camp! We seriously need our gold medal champs working at grass root level! This is what russians do. Kids there train with multiple world title wrestlers

Here video of instructions of how to transition from wrist control to high crotch takedown. These are things are wrestlers and in our wrestling we are uneasy and uncomfortable with. We want to underhook from position and score safe tds. To win championships we need to get to legs in a better way. Sometimes you get stalemated and this is what opens up the scoring. If you for example combine underhooks with these techniques the opponent will be uncomfortable knowing you score from different positions.

Whilst for example russians will never learn to underhook as iranians and you have ppl like saitiev being fascinated by iranian clinch game, they are FAR MORE versatile than our wrestlers. Which works to their advantage.

Now I've made a presentation of some technical aspects that will play a huge part in future of iranian wrestling. We already saw Dabir mentioning it and hinting towards this during interview i Belgrade. And here are some videos of training.

I hope you guys find the information useful!

Mohamadian shouldn't be any where close to the team anymore. He choked in Olympics and now...
Overall fair result. Zare deserved gold but other than that, team did well. I think it was best team achievement in level of number of medals and Russia not there also helped of course.

I didn't notice this until watching Amouzad's final match again, but the crowd's first half chants had changed to "DOO DO DOO DO DOO, RAHMAN!"

Can you imagine how much of an adrenaline rush that would be for a 20 year old? Rahman gave it 100% the whole match, not only offensively but blocking dozens of shots from his opponent.

He nearly collapsed into his coaches arm after the match cause he left everything on the mat.

I wish the best for this young champion. I hope he stays humble and grounded, and continues to grow.

              Congratulations champ!

                Kamran, Rahman, Zare.
Taylor was much better than Hasan.

Aside from our champions this year, we were just too defensive minded in FS this time around. It may be enough to get to the semis or finals, but not enough against sharp shooters in the final. And recall that Russia wasn't even in this tourney. We need to take a lesson from the winners in this tourney and really work on being offensive AND defensive minded. Defense is good and necessary, but it's not sufficient.

Amouzad and Ghasempour were magnificent and in my opinion they will be the leaders and hope for Iran's freestyle team going forward. They can dominate for the next decade. Overall these two pahlevans salvaged this tournament for Iran. Greco was an absolute disaster and a total shame and Yazdani's performance was totally underwhelming. I think it is time we Iranians admit that Taylor is and has been better than Yazdani these past few years.

What Yazdani has done for modern Iranian wrestling and for bringing joy to 80 million people is undeniable. In that sense, he is a bigger champion of the people, than Taylor. While Taylor is a big name in US wrestling and those who follow wrestling, I don't think he has had as much reach with non-wrestlers as Yazdani. Taylor is the undeniable winner in their duals, but Hazan Yazdani is the name that will remain in more peoples' hearts for a longer time.

He would have to defeat Yazdani first

Does anybody honestly have any insight about what they plan to do for olympics?

Ghassempour is incredible at 92 kg, but he looks maxxed out weight wise. It was already a bit of a struggle for him to get there and last worlds apparently he was many kg lighter than cox when they took the mat.

For him to go up to 97 kg even though a small difference could be difficult. Sadulaev and Snyder and just naturally bigger guys than him. Plus Goleij I think can be quite competitive in that weight class with Snyder, sadulaev if Russia is allowed to compete is P4P best in the world, maybe ever, and will almost certainly take gold.

Could Kamran go down to Hassan's weight? He used to wrestle there a few years ago but pathway was blocked, but his improvement has been tremendous. A lot of people think he is a better matchup for taylor.

But then ofc basically ridiculous notion to leave Hassan at home for Paris...Ofc when younger he used to wrestle at Burrough's weight (where he won gold vs geduev in rio).

Is there any solution to have both these guys on the mat in Paris?

I don't think it has ever been clear cut, in my opinion both of them have had decisive wins against the other and Taylor's win at the olympics really came down to the wire. They are top notch competitors that are in my opinion evenly matched which means on any given year its hard to predict who comes out on top. Its too defeatist/negative to assume one is head and shoulders the better wrestler

yazdani is clearly the better wrestler, technically, how many of the 1st rounds did he win? Most of them right? Taylor wins with strength and stamina

The iranian national team trials are for some reason very BAD indicators of how wrestlers will fare in Worlds and Olympics. Sometimes styles makes fights and sometimes wrestlers know how to get to each other due to experience of wrestling them without necessarily being the better wrestler.

We had this problem in heavyweights in the past
We may have this problem in 86 kg
We def have this problem in light heavyweight. ie 97 kg.

Iran needs to work out better how to select wrestlers going forward.
