They were biased in all fights. They were overlooking american mat fleeing and were fast to give caution and points and make angry looks when savadkouhi mat fled. They didnt caution and give points in 61 kg fight when american tried to break arms and legs of a young junior wrestler. Tunisian arab ref + american lokal shit refs. Also whilst legal all american were doing heavy anti wrestling by stalling on knees to avoid pushouts. The whole american strategy in the match against iran was to avoid underhooks and iranian traditional of controlling the mat. They were hand fighting in a ugly way too.
IMO the americans in heavier weight 89+ kg - 125 kg were fighting rather clean and sportsmanlike. In lower weight classes they were stacked with sleazebags.
All in all the americans took this really seriously whereas iranians didnt take this tournament that seriously.Comment

Do you know what impresses me most in this fight? Amouzad broke him mentally. Im pretty sure of it. Why and how? In the worlds fight amouzad almost got caught in snakedancing and scrambles in the beginning of that fight before his strategy and style and stenght prevailed. Look at what he does in this fight. Diakomihailis does his usually knee stalling to avoid getting horsed around too much, tries to taking it to folkstyle scrambling but gets beaten on his own style and game. Amuzad flips him and do kondeh keshi 3 times. Also note the usual sleeze ref doing his slime ball thing by not awarding Amouzad 2 additional points. Regarding the rule book regarding when refs should give step out points and when they should give no points because of shoving opponent. UWW rule book does not recognize in their rule book that american wrestlers do anything wrong when stalling on knees to not give up pushout points. Thing is more complicated than this according to rules. Whilst not in rule book officially (something i expect will be implemented in due time): If you do this INTENTIONALLY the refree and judges have to do a interpretation of what is happening. If a wrestler does this systematically and prevents real wrestling from taking place they will be put on passivity/mat fleeing with one points given away and caution. UWW instructions clearly states this!
Now let us look at why commentators in Iran and elsewhere reacts to american cheating. Doing this one or two times IS NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
Doing this more than 4-5 times in a fight SHALL ACCORDING TO UWW refree INSTRUCTIONS awards opponent points and cautions against stalling wrestlers.
The problem with these fights is that the refree is acting like an idiot and bend the rules. If olaghs in iran have any sense of good judgement they will complain and lobby to have rules changed so there can be no grey zones for biased shit judges to misuse.

Savadkouhi against Sidakov. 2-2 win for Savadkouhi.
I really wasnt impressed by Savadkouhi in the beginning of his carreer. But Im glad our coaches are able to see things in wrestlers and continue to develop them and give them chances. I truly believed this wrestler was hopeless but these 1-2 years he has been tremendous and should be a medal or gold medal contender for Iran going forward. He can beat the best in the world and needs to been more consistent against lesser opponents. His ceiling is as high as the best wrestlers in the world.
