Our wrestlers historically have not done well with the quick pacy wrestler who stay disengaged and shoot at us like Burroghs and Taylor. At the smaller weights, I think we are just not quick enough to handle the speed.
Add that our population statistically have grown in height. We have a bigger pool of wrestlers in upper weights i believe.

The dagestanis and chechens have the opposite problem! Shorter ppl. They tend to see talented heavyweights somewhat as unicorns. They are loved dearly by the coaches.

Yazdani cruised to an "easy" Gold-Medal today at the Budapest Ranking Series Tournament winning 13-2 in the Final against Hidlay from the US.
Overall he showed a good Performance after the Surgery and months of absence from Wrestling.
But that was definately not "prime" Yazdani that he definately needs to be for the Gold Medal at the Olympics.
Brooks who defeated Taylor recently for the US Olympic Trials has a pretty similiar Style as Yazdani but he is much younger and probably much more hungry as well.
This will most likely be the Key Matchup for both of them at the Olympics for the Gold-Race.

Saeid ESMAEILI (IRI) has defeated world champion Luis ORTA (CUB)! OH WAIT WHAT?! What did we just witness here! Saeid ESMAEILI (IRI) was clearly the better wrestler for five minutes and 58 seconds. He led 6-0 at the break but gave up a four pointer in the second as Orta closed the gap to 6-4. Iran challenged the call asking for two points for counter but lost to make the score 6-5. Esmaeili did well to keep the lead but for the last two seconds. As Orta dropped his guard, Esmaeili began celebrating but Orta launched a massive throw for four. It was originally not scored as the clock expired but Cuba challenged the call. On review, the move was completed with 0.1 seconds remaining on the clock. Esmaeili is inconsolable.

                            typical Iranian mentality.

This sums up our wrestling, football, volleyball, etc, etc, sports mentality in one paragraph.
