If he cant Win against an old man he has no business competing for gold. Lopez may be the greatest olympian since karelin but he is aged.

I placed bets on Azarpira and Amouzad to win gold. Yazdani/Mirzazadeh/Zare just don't have good payouts since they are seeded 1 (unless you want to place several hundred/thousand dollar bets, and then you have to worry about upsets.

I did place $10 on Emami for the hell of it. 51:1 odds

            Let's go!

Mirzazadeh is peaking in his olympic cycle at the right time. Lopez is always a threat but he is aged. Took gold last year and adjusted the last bits of his game.

Greco is truly unpredictable because of passivity rules. U can literaly get in par terre first and just close the fight and win 1-1 on criteria.

UWW has decided that between equals lottery ought to decide and this is a shame.

If he can past the Japanese he will face the reigning world champ in the semis from Kyrgyzstan. We don't have a real shot at the final in 60kg.

In 130kg if Mirzazadeh can beat Lopez in the QFs, that is basically the finals and he should easily win gold if he beats Lopez.
Youre absolutely right about Mohsennejad. Its at least 50-50 chance that he takes bronze really. Agree to 100 percent

The japanese is good tho but he is way past his prime. Medals dont mean much after 2 years without results. Especially im greco. It can be 75 percent chance that Mohsennejad takes bronze.

The hell of it? Its the most sensible bet to do. Have you followed him?

Emami on 51:1 is a steal. They are sleeping on him. Dude loses against top guys with razor thin margins. And he keeps improving. Either betting houses are clueless or they hate iranians.

Everyone wrote off rezaie winning greco Light heavyweight too in 2012. He was as good as emami that year relative to the competition. He tore apart the competition in some kind of weird flow state that could hypnotize educational psychologists. He even got high after winning the final and wasnt 100 percent there in his head. People forget. Watch that classic.

if emami has a good day he beats both dake and salkazanov.

Match times are estimates, as you know, based on the prior matches of the day. I can try and update as I'm watching live, but they occur during my work schedule, so unlikely to be able to post enough times in any accurate fashion. I'm hoping some of our other members can step in and post as well!

It will be fun to watch and comment together.

If you guys want high level content for iranian wrestling in general you can watch Hossein Nazari MMAs youtube channel. It disappeared for a while but nowadays the name is UWW Parsi (unsure if he works for uww but I highly doubt it?). UWW Parsi ... there isnt any coverage from Paris per say but some amazing content from 2 weeks ago.
