    Pele, Maradona and Zidane are still the all time top 3. Pepsi and Penaldo can become close to them once they single handedly lead their team to world cup glory.

        And this is how the greats are erased and/or forgotten. They are replaced by flashier, shinier versions that look better because of newer technology (4K vs SD, lightweight equipment vs. standard equipment, better facilities, etc). Maradona, Pele, Mohamed Ali, Michael Jordan, etc., etc.

              An absolute legend. Won a World Cup leading a bunch of average players and almost won another in 90. He would get kicked and beaten every game but wouldn’t dive. I don’t think anyone can match what he did. He was the combination of God-given talent, absolute determination and pure football heart.

              Khoda rahmatesh kone.

                    I read that Naples' Stadium is being renamed Diego Maradona Stadium. I don't think ever in the history of soccer has a stadium been named after someone not from that country.
                    I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

                        I actually did find a few examples, although all but one are named after political figures;

                        South Korea: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwangju_World_Cup_Stadium - also called Guus Hiddink Stadium
                        Uganda: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandela_National_Stadium - named after Nelson Mandela
                        Libya: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martyr...bruary_Stadium - was called Hugo Chávez Football Stadium until 2011
                        Benin: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stade_Charles_de_Gaulle - named after Charles de Gaulle
                        Zambia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dag_Ha...3%B6ld_Stadium - named after Dag Hammarskjöld

                        I skipped all those that were named after Elizabeth II, but there could be a couple of more in this list that I have missed:

                            interesting.

                            I always say, "I would feel honored, if I ever was being beaten up by Bruce Lee", people would say "whats that scar on your face?" "Ah just had a fight with Bruce Lee".

                            I would now add Maradona on this too.... "Hey why you walk like that, are you injured or something?" "Yes got fouled while playing vs Maradona's team"....

                            Its an honor!
