We should enjoy towards end of of our golden era of our vollyball. We shall see if we have become a true vollyball nation with the new generation of players taking the torch from our golden boys or our vollyball was just produced 5 super stars which got us results and once they are gone our vollyball will be drop from world stage as well.
    WE SHALL SEE

not even some of the best teams in the world can replace a golden generation without losing in level. But irans next gen have shown they atleast have the potential to reach the same level, now lets give them 1-2 years to see how much they can develop

Yep, we have another golden generation of Volleyball who have won the world U19 and U21 in 2017 and 2019 including the tournaments' MVP. They can become even better than Marouf and Mousavi generation. You can already see some of them like Esfandiar and Kazemi playing well in the world league.
If anything we should be worried about our Basketball and Handball teams who will go back to 2nd rate Asian level in a few years after their golden generations retiring.

It is really a shame our handball team didn't really make it anywhere. They had bad luck and also had to deal with a Qatar powerhouse which was a Europe select team.

Last time I checked we seemed to have some quality legionnaires in Europe. I wonder how we couldn't finish just behind qatar and how other arab countries (ksa bahrain Kuwait) are strong in this sport

It is a shame indeed. We were 1 win away from qualifying for the Olympics in 2016 but we faced the fake international team a.k.a Qatar in the Asian qualification final. We even went toe-to-toe with them and were tied in the first half but missed a lot of shots and penalties at the end. That was our best team ever. If it wasn't for that fake team or that snob Iman Jamali (our best player at the time) hadn't changed nationality to Hungary just before that tournament we would have qualified.
Even last year we had a shot to qualify for Tokyo especially since the aging Qatar team lost to Bahrain in the semi-final, but having a weak Iranian coach, unorganized team without proper preparation and Sajjad Esteki (who I rate as one of the best players in the world) getting injured after the first match really hurt us.

Anyways, handball is a minor sport that is also ridiculous with rules allowing the fake qatar national team and the Iranian playing for hungary. Let's invest on better sport instead
