This is the first time I had ever watched Salehi play. Is he always this good? If so, he has world class ability!

Also amazing that we have 8 players with heights equal to or greater than 2 m.
Good to see Saeed Maroof back as well. He was injured the first few games. His experience will be key during the Olympics.
We will be playing Italy, Canada and Japan in the Olympics as well so this has been a good warmup.


Iranian volleyball is not respected enough, even in Iran.
Our people always like to make fun of Iranian planning and federations, but the people in the Iranian volleyball federation in the late 90s to mid 2000s should be praised and lauded. They set up a system where we constantly develop and scout good young players. These young players then go on and excel at the junior level and eventually join the national team with decent enough experience.

As expected the team is getting gelled together and getting better as we go on, even though this was Italy's B team. Lol at those who wanted Alekno to be fired after the 1st match.

Kazemi and Salehi are doing great. Esfandiar has a great spike but needs to improve his reception. Future looks good.

yes he has been this good all tourney, read my post about him in this thread earlier. he is young and inexperinced and can improve even more
