Problem is I don’t think our basketball has advanced since the last time the US blew us out, whilst other teams have improved since they last got annihilated by USA basketball —see Nigeria

When does the draw/bracket for koshti farangi come out? I know freestyle is near the end of the Olympics but koshti farangi is starting on 1 August.

After the last few days the only hope I have for some good news is in wrestling.

Olympic Judo competitor Saeid Mollaei shouted out Israel after winning the silver medal in the men's 81kg Judo event, a nod to his difficult past and the obstacles he overcame to even be able to compete in this year's Tokyo Olympics.

"Thank you to Israel for all the good energy -– this medal is dedicated to you as well and I hope Israeli is happy with this victory, todah," Mollaei told Israeli news outlet Channel 5 Sports after winning the silver medal.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

Diaspora Iranians, Massih Alinejad, racist Western Think Tanks/Media and Israel work now hand in hand to take away the gold of Forooghi.
Given the deep hatred of the IOC towards Iran, everything is possible.
Also, the level of self-hatred among some Iranians cant be seen anywhere around the world.

Its not just self hate. Selling out is more like it. Alinejad does very well for herself being on multiple payrolls. One of the main reasons protests and movements in Iran do not go anywhere are the likes of Alinejad and many others making a very well living pretending to be opposition. 100 gs a month you are no longer a human rights activist but a mozdoor. in fact that is what a mozdoor is, someone who gets paid well to advance other's talking points. If there was a revolution tomorrow all these people would be out of a very lucrative business.

Is Molaei really happy about his medal? What worth does an Olympic medal have if it is not for your country? Also a very stupid policy from I.R to destroy our talents like Alizadeh and Molaei and countless others over such stupid and backward policies. Whatever any Iranian athlete does under another country's flag is worthless. In fact I hope they do not win anything as far as the Olympics is concerned although I do wish them well in their personal lives.

I had the same opinion as you till i once thought what my life would be if my family was killed, hanged or whatever, or i didnt have enough food in my own country .... sometimes we cant judge people, if IR killed anyone of your family for example and this guy comes out and dedicates his medal to khamenei while your brother was killed maybe you would act the same

Also i hear so many bad things about alinejad, bit its all rumourd, there is no proof that she is selling iran .... maybe or in my opinion she really loves iran

No one argues against your first point. Iranians' struggle is real and the regime is oppressive and murderous but do you think someone who gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars from foreign countries cares for people of Iran? No, she is just paid noise, paid to advance anti Iranian propaganda. Yes anti Iranian not anti I.R. You will see that the west and the Arab allies always say Iran and never jomhoorieh eslami. This is not "rumors" against Alinejad, she has pictures with mike Pompeo. many of them are on Saudi payroll. Do you think they care about Iranians? Nasrin Sotoudeh is a human rights activist. Someone ho has paid dearly for her activism not someone who makes noise like a Chihuahua and gets paid dearly.

Petitioning to take away a medal from Iran from a guy who was a nurse in Syria is someone else's talking point. She could even careless what happens to people as long as she gets her story. Few years ago there was this somewhat strong movement with this guy saying he is gonna go to Iran you should have seen the hate and jealousy his movement got to kill it before it went anywhere by all these docoon daraneh revolution. Yes, unfortunately this is a big business for many and a long lasting one some have been doing this for decades and have made great lives for themselves.

Not clear if Molaei would have been allowed to win by IOC had he fought under Iran´s flag...hard to say.

He is a great athlete. He is World Champion under Iran´s flag, but referees love to screw us up in Olympics.

Olympics has always been political. Just look at Kimia Alizadeh, why is an athlete that did not qualify to the Olympics like everyone else is allowed to compete in the Olympics? Just to put her up against her countrymen for political reasons. I agree with you that Molaei would not be favored by refs had he participated under the Iranian flag but the power and energy he would have gotten representing Iran would have ben immeasurable. It's a shame on our government for sure to lose such talents and many many more for backwardness and mismanagement. Molaei could have refused and fought the Israeli like a true people's champion but he chose the other rout. No doubt he got some money from Israel as well.

The huge influence of Israel in IOC is rather something new. Strange for a country with almost no decent athletes.

The "do not compete against Isreali athlete" mentality is simply idiotic. Instead of having our athletes compete, and aim to completely dominate and win, we end up looking completely stupid and pointless. Maybe it seemed as a just cause back in the 80s, but it hasn't achieved anything so why keep doing it?

I get a feeling we might end up with just 1 gold medal for the 2020 Olympics. Sad that 2012 was the best Olympic we had, and it might be a long time till we have another one in the same level.

Or it could be that Israel and the IOC work togheter to cheat on us. I expect tokhmi ref decisions in Wrestling, Karate and Weightlifting as well. Back then had to fight against doping and anti-Iran IOC-People. Now Israel is also involved.
