According to an interview I read a week or two ago, he’s basically competing injured. He didn’t have a chance.

If he was injured and he is 36 years old, why to participate? I would have given the chance to participate to another athlete to experience Olympics.

Very disappointed with Haddadi. He always trains for 4 years and gets injured right before the Olympics. This year the discus competition isn't as high as before. Shame.

I learned that this year there will be a draw for the teams who finished 2nd and 3rd in their groups in Volleyball determining their opponent. Only guarantee is that the 1st team of a group plays the 4th of the other group.

This is something new at the Olympics. It used to be straight away 1-4 and 2-3. Now we could have something like 2-2 and 3-3.

My guess is that they are trying to make it easier for Japan both in Women's Volleyball and Men's Volleyball. The men might exit already in the group stage though.

Chances that Iran tops the group are very slim now. If we go through we will be probably 2nd or 3rd and fall into this weird draw procedure. Im case of two losses we might miss out totally on the next round.
