Resources and growth of wrestling is why the US is doing so well. Wrestling used to be a Midwest thing. Now you see kids in both east and west coast start wrestling at a young age. I think this growth has a lot to do with popularity of MMA and the success of wrestlers in that arena.

We disagree. Wrestling is NOT popular in the USA in comparison to baseball that every child (male or female) loves to play.
Whereas in Iran there are 30-40 young child wrestle and is very popular in Iran, Turkey, Russia. Chinese have picked up this sport to gain some medals. But they do not like it.

Resource. Yes, Western countries have more resources. It is up to fan to provide resources because we are relatively poor country in sports except football because of agents that make ton of money.

We need to support our coaches. We need to support our athletes. We need to get involved more than watching.

I hope mentally he copes with the loss and doesn’t hang up his singlet. Losing to Taylor 3 times, specially in the final, could be the tilting point. Devastating seeing his reaction in the photos posted.

He'll be ok. Taylor is at his peak now. He'll be 3 years older next Olympics and probably won't be the same.

Not trying to be political as we have been warned by the mods multiple time. Just would like to point out, a lot of us expats (specially the ones located in the USA) can't really do much help other than words of encouragement. Any sort of financial support and donation would be flagged by the state department and start a whole debacle of headaches based on how sanctioned Iran is. I can't even deposit anything more than $5k USD in my account at any given time without the banking institution reaching out and wanting additional information on how that money was earned as Iranian nationals living in the US are under the watch of the state department. Things are so intertwined in Iran, with the IRGC involved in so many things, that the US state department can say any financial donations was toward a designated terrorist organization, starting a complete legal battle for the Iranian expat trying to prove that the money wasn't going to anything hostile toward the US.

because you need to wrestle out, not push out and not push out if they are down on the mat. to me that looks like correct call. 2nd time yazdani gets it because taylor did so again as tactic just to sit down. i'm not a ref but i think call was fair

Some in Iran were commenting, it was coach's fault not to let Yazdani to concentrate on his own. Too much yelling confused Yazdani. He should have done his job and won it.
