There is certainly bias by IOC. Squash is one sport that has trying to be part of the event for many years and it quite deserves it but their bids have been turned down over and over again probably because it will give countries like Pakistan, Egypt, Malaysia more chances at winning medals.

Anyway I don't particularly follow Olympics. It's good seeing hardworking athletes from ordinary background get the sporting world highlight for once like that Tunisian youngster winning the swimming gold. That for me is the essence of Olympics but the way US, China, Russia etc make it another cock fight of theirs is... just see the stories by NY times about China at the Olympics. US literally lobbied to get skateboarding included but lost to Japan lol but then have the audacity to talk about China taking winning gold too seriously.

There is only 3 years until the next olympics and what we've all observed with Iran's medals is that not much has improved with Iran's situation! The bulk of medals are from Wrestling. This time no medals in Taekwondo!!! Weightlifting and Judo federations of Iran were punished by IOC prior to olympics so weightlifting just got 1 medal, Judo had no athletes! Iran got its first medal in Shooting. Fencing is one sport that Iran has the potential to win a medal in the future.

What I do like to see is:

      1. Iran to allow athletes in Judo, Wrestling and other sports to face Israeli opponents. Because of Iran's policy not allowing athletes facing Israeli, Iran missed out on winning medals in Judo in few olympic games and then got banned, which resulted in Iran having no representation in Judo and also exodus of Iranian Judokas, Taekwondo fighters. It is a disgrace when an Iranian Saeid Mollaei gets citizenship of Mongolia and wins them a silver medal, that silver medal could have been Iran's!

      2. Iran to allow non-Muslim female athletes to represent Iran without Islamic clothing. Iran should really do this and invest in finding talents amongst religious minorities such as Armenians, Assyrians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Mandaeans and others for Athletics (All the track and field events), Gymnastics, Wrestling, Boxing, Diving and Swimming.

      3. Look for talent among Afro-Irani, Bandari and Baluchi for Athletics and Boxing in Bushehr, Hormozgan and Sistan-Baluchestan.

      4. Iran has about 9,000 to 10,000 ethnic Kazakh in Golestan province, Kazakhstan has collected 22 medals in Boxing at the olympics throughout history. It would be awesome if Boxing scouts go to Golestan province and find potential good boxers among ethnic Kazakh.

      5. Equestrian and Archery are two sports that Iran should start investing in, for equestrian Iran can easily find potential riders from Nomadic/Semi-Nomadic Kurdish, Lur, Lak, Baluch, Turkmen and other Turkic tribes in Western Iran, Golestan, North Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, Kerman, Sistan-Baluchestan, Fars.

Iranians should really make all Iranians aware about all these ideas so hopefully changes will be made and we all see more medals. If not enough time for Paris 2024, then the aim should be Brisbane 2028 or the Asian Games before it.

I hope Iran wins medal in Karate tomorrow.
