Nazanin Malaei was one of the most impressive iranian athletes to me. qualified our of two heats and made semi finals. all of her opponents are like 6'-6'4, absolute monsters. overall finished 11th in her field. all in blistering heat.

Iranians should really push for the authorities to allow non-Muslim Iranian women ie. Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Mandaeans and others to participate in sports without Hijab. Their participation will give Iran advantage in having representation in sports where currently Iran has no females participating eg. Boxing, Gymnastics, Swimming, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Fencing, some Track and Field events. Being non-Muslims means they can easily participate without Hijab and there will be no dramas! In Iran they participate in women's only venues anyway. I truly hope influencial Iranians can get public/authorities approval for this to happen.
They don't even invest to give water to these communities or relief after an earthquake / floods, etc, you want this government to invest in athletes and promoting religious freedom on a national level??

Alekno was basically saying we lost because our serves was terrible and not close to world standard. The local league serves suffer and as more than half players play inside, that became an issue in Olympics.

Wow, I never knew this existed. No amputee football is not included in the Paralympics.
