You surely dont think I forgot about 98 when I asked my question. In recent iterations of the world cup, AFC and CONCACAF couldn't be in the same group. Has this rule been reverted back?

I remember in 2010 they put AFC and CONCACAF in the same pot so they couldn't be in the same group. I also remember there were no groups in 2014 World Cup that had both an AFC and CONCACAF team and I thought the same for 2018 but forgot about Korea and Mexico.

Well I am glad to be wrong if it means we can have a group with a CONCACAF side alongside Iran.
