PFDC – FRANKFURT, Former Iranian national team captain Mehdi Mahdavikia is in talks with IPL powerhorse Steel Azin. It is rumored that the 32-year-old midfielder will leave German-side Eintracht Frankfurt after being sorted out by Eintracht coach Michael Skibbe.

According to the Iranian news agency ILNA and the German based weekly sports magazine “Kicker”, Steel Azin has shown interest in signing the former HSV and VfL Bochum midfielder.

Mahdavikia who previously announced to stay in Germany for at least two more years, would be welcomed by former German Bundesliga players signed by Steel Azin such as Ali Karimi (FC Bayern Munich), Ferydoon Zandi (SC Freiburg, 1. FC K’Lautern, TuS Koblenz) and Amir Shapourzadeh (Hansa Rostock, FSV Frankfurt).
