Zob Ahan overcomes Sepahan in Isfahan derby [VIDEO]

PFDC – ESFAHAN, Sepahan lost by a goal to nill to Zob Ahan in the Esfahan derby on Wednesday. The game took place at the Fooladshahr Stadium in Esfahan.

The only goal was scored in the 71st minute by Seyed Mohammad Hossaini when his fabulous header to a corner kick taken by Hassan Ashjari just made it in over the line after hitting the cross-bar.

“I congratulate my players for a good performance against Zob Ahan,” Sepahan coach Amir Ghalenoie stated in the press conference, after the match.

“They created five good opportunities after conceding a goal but didn’t take advantage of them.

“However, we are six points ahead of Zob Ahan in the IPL standings table with an excellent goal difference.”

Sepahan are still clearly leading the Iran Pro League with fifty-five points, Zob Ahan proceeded closer in the race with six points behind Sepahan and Esteghlal moved up one place to third with forty-three points, thanks to a 2-0 victory over Mes Kerman.

Persepolis Tehran are fourth with a game in hand, as they will take on Moghavemat on Friday.
