PFDC – MADRID, Jose Jurado struck the only goal of the game after 80 minutes despite the fact that Osasuna had played with a numerical advantage for more than 30 minutes. NekovsLassa

The hosts had the first scoring opportunity in the 15th minute when Jurado’s effort was brilliantly saved by Ricardo.

Moments later, Antonio Lopez should have done better, but his header flew just wide.

Masoud Shojaei was the first to threaten for Osasuna. The Iranian charged into the penalty box, but homeground goalkeeper David De Gea did well to come out and block his low effort.

After the restart, Atlético took control of the match, however their dominance came to an end though when they lost midfielder Simao after he picked up his second yellow card.

Camacho’s men had the most of possession, but failed to produce any real threat except Kristain Vadocz’s superb effort from 30 yards that forced an equally brilliant save from the goalkeeper.

The match was going towards a goalless draw when Jurado found the back of the net in the 80th minute with a curling drive from the edge of the box.

Javad Nekounam displayed a solid performance in midfield while Masoud Shojaei, who was playing behind striker Pandiani, had a good first half before running out of steam after the break.
