PFDC – BOCHUM, Bochum suffered yet another defeat in German Bundesliga and surely can’t deny being involved in the fight against relegation anymore. Despite taking an early lead, Heiko Herrlich’s team were downed 1-2 by Eintracht Frankfurt at home on Friday.

Vahid Hashemian started as Sestak’s striking partner upfront and thanked the coach for his trust when he, thanks to a combination of good technique and luck, made his way past two defenders on the right wing before sending a pinpoint-pass to the far post, were Holtby tapped the ball in.

But Bochum showed a horrible performance and were clearly outclassed by the visitors afterwards. While the homeside barely created any chances, they also made many mistakes in defense.

The logical consequence were Russ’ equalizer and finally Caio’s winning goal in second half.

Hashemian, who like his striking partner Sestak was very much lost upfront, still was one of the better players of a poor Bochum side. However, he was subbed out after 62 minutes, shortly before Caio’s winner.

Bochum now stand in 14th position, with 27 points collected so far. While the two bottom teams of the 18-teams-strong Bundesliga will directly relegate, the 16th placed team will have to participate in a play-off against the third-placed team of the second league. 16th placed Freiburg are currently three points behind Bochum
