Osasuna back on track [VIDEO]

PFDC – PAMPLONA, Osasuna finally ended their negative series and deservingly defeated Almeria 1-0 at home.

The sole goal of the day already came after 20 minutes when Pandiani got to the end of Juanfran’s cross and “El Rifle” made no mistake, heading the ball precisely into the left corner.

Osasuna could have added some more goals, the best chance being wasted by Javad Nekounam after 62 minutes. The referee had pointed at the penalty spot after a defender had handled Nekounam’s shot inside the area, but the Iranian international had to see his not perfectly struck penalty kick being denied by the goalkeeper.

Camunas also failed to double the lead later in second half, when his shot came off the crossbar.

While Javad Nekounam played the full 90 minutes and showed a good performance, Masoud Shojaei came off the bench after 74 minutes and had little impact on the game.

However, due to Juanfran’s suspension for the next game, Shojaei might return to the starting lineup for the away game in Valencia next Sunday.
