MajidiCelebrating1AFC – KUALA LUMPUR, The AFC Champions League top-10 list of goalscorers is currently dominated by seven foreign imports, led by Suwon Bluewings’ irrepressible striker Jose Mota.

Brazilian Mota unleashed a double in his Korean side’s merciless 6-2 thrashing of the Singapore Armed Forces FC on the final match day and the brace took his tally to seven goals.

Four players were tied on five goals each, two less than Mota’s haul.

Mota’s compatriot Denilson pumped in two goals in Uzbek side Bunyodkor’s merciless 4-1 thrashing of the UAE’s Al Wahda and increased his tally to five.

The other players who bagged five goals are: Iranian outfit Esteghlal’s Farhad Majidi, Saudi powerhouse Al Shabab’s Angolan hitman Amado Flavio and Qatari club Al Sadd’s Leandro.

Other than Mota, the only other player representing an East Asian side in the list is Hirai Shoki of Gamba Osaka (Japan), who scored four goals.

Though the UAE’s Al Ain finished at the basement of their group, Argentine target-man Jose ‘Pepe’ Sand found a place in the high-scoring stakes with his three goals.

Al Gharafa’s Araujo (Clemerson) has been the team’s talisman since joining the Qataris and is prominently present in the roll-call with four goals.
