PFDC – MADRID, CA Osasuna was close to causing a sensation in front of 78,000 spectators at Estadio Bernabeu on Sunday evening but a last-minute header by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo saved homeside Real Madrid an overall deserved 3-2 victory against a brave underdog.

Osasuna managed to take the lead twice (9′ Aranda, 43′ Vadocz) but Cristiano Ronaldo (26′, 89′) and Marcelo (45′) finally arranged an important and hard-fought 3-2 home victory for Real and its fans.

Despite a superior opponent, the Iranian international Masoud Shojaei who was subbed in for Juanfran (62′) had the big sensation at his foot. During a counterattack of Osasuna in which Vadocz and Shojaei found themselves alone in front of Real’s Casillas, the Hungarian played the ball sideways to Masoud who had obviously problems to control the ball, consequently Masoud missed the goal (67′).

After his century chance to score at Bernabeu, Masoud played like being paralysed and lost nearly every single tackle.

His compatriot Javad Nekounam returned on the pitch after an injury lay-off and showed an average performance.
