the AFC ‘C’ Coaching Certificate Course to work hard to improve their coaching knowledge and experience.
He said the participants’ hard work is bound to pay off and they would reap the benefits of their sweet labour when they become well-qualified coaches in their respective countries.
Young coaches from Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives are taking part in the course, which runs from May 10 to 23, 2010, at the Hamedan Municipality Sport Complex.
AFC instructor Ardeshir Pournemat, from Iran, is conducting the course, which covers both theoretical and practical aspects.
The opening ceremony of the course was attended by Abbas Soufi, President of Hamedan Football Association, and Alireza Eftekhari, General Manager of the Physical Education Organisation, who welcomed the AFC delegation and course participants.
The day before the course opening ceremony, a meeting was held between the AFC delegation and officials from various government departments and Hamedan FA.
The meeting focused on interdepartmental collaborations and plans to make sure the AFC U-14 Festival of Football, which is being concurrently held here, is a success.
The Festival, which is less about competition and more about providing an arena for talented juniors from their respective regions to play against each other and forge bonds of friendship, is held in four regional locations.
The Festival for the Central Asian region was held from March 13 to 26 in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent.
The West Asian Festival was held from February 21 to March 6 in Doha, Qatar.
South Asia is currently celebrating their Festival from May 10-23, here, while the Asean event is scheduled for May 24 to June 6 in Kota Kinabalu, in the Malaysian province of Sabah, in Borneo.
